So Mr. Basehart, did you read any books recommended to you yet?

Yup.  I bought about 4 so far, but I've only read Storm Front (seeing as that one was the most recommended) - and I didn't enjoy it as much I'd hoped.  When I've finished with The Fabric of the Cosmos, I'll probaby give The Winter King a go.  I also have Factotum and an Edgar Allen Poe collection.

Oh here's a fantastic series to keep you busy: the Patrick O'Brien books, which I think start with Master and Commander but don't quote me on that. They're fantastic.

as tripe mentioned somewhere else, octavia butler is another good author.  anything by her would prob be good, though i've only read the parable of the sower and am reading blood child and other short stories...
