Point taken, but I think I got a better one... why didn't they call it "The Way the Star Wars prequels should have been made"?  ;)

At least they knew going in that what they were doing would not match up with the 40 year old back story and they had the brains to place it in an alternate universe instead of pretending that it did match up.

Is there any possibility at all that when George Lucas dies the rights to Star Wars will transfer to somebody who wants Star Wars to become a dignified film series again? Nah, we all know what they say about something that's too good to be true. Oh, I almost forgot what the main topic of my own thread was! Why didn't they call the Star Wars prequel trilogy "A reason for killing yourself that God would be okay with".

Was Star Wars ever a "dignified" film series? They were fun popcorn movies, but I don't know if I'd call them dignified.

My mistake. What I meant to say was "far more dignified before the year that closed out the 1990's"

Okay, Star Trek is SciFi, Star Wars is more fantasy.  They both come off as-advertised.

So why didn't they call this movie Star Trek: Temporal Clusterf***?  (actually that's a good title for the Voyager episode "Relativity".)

Just noticed the Soultaker logo, and suddenly got one I couldn't resist doing...

Why didn't they call "Soultaker": "Meet Joe Estevez?"

I'm actually somebody who doesn't mind the Prequel films (or Crystal Skull, for that matter), though I thoroughly understand each and every criticism of them.  About the biggest problems I currently have with the whole Lucas Empire (a little ironic how that turned out, isn't it?) is the Force Unleashed "buy the new version of the game and get an extra LEVEL; take that, people who bought the original version of the game!" and how George Lucas gave a speech about a year or two ago at USC basically stating new filmmakers should avoid making blockbusters, since they aren't likely to make money on them.  I think he followed the speech by kissing a Kenner action figure, getting into his scale model Millenium Falcon and flying back to his gigantic ranch.
