Well, keeping up with unfortunate news:

*Wii-U fans? Remember Zombie U? Well, it's not getting a sequel. According to Ubisoft it never became profitable on the Wii-U so no sequel for it.

*Oh, and Vivendi, who have been trying to unload their shares in Activision Blizzard, are now taking out a big loan using those shares as collateral. That's real bad  as that money will be sent over to the parent company to keep them afloat and all Blizz will be left with is a big debt that they'll need to repay with nothing to show for it.

*Looking for some remotely bright news? Well, Runner 2 is getting some DLC. Among the additions are playable versions of Raz (Psychonauts) and Quote (Cave Story).

This is a shame - It's a really good game that could have had a great sequel.
FINE

Well, apparently Dota 2 is now out of beta and officially released.

I think I've already made a joke about "so if you're one of the 3 people who didn't get a beta invite" thing, so I'll skip that.

Yeah, I can only imagine what multiplayer in GTA will be like. Just one huge deathmatch. With cars. And planes. And helicopters.

What have they done?

There's a new Ratchet and Clank game coming out this holiday. They're going "back to their roots", meaning it will be like the normal games in the series instead of A4O or FFA.

Some Dead Rising 3 news:

Quote
A unique Kinect feature has been included on the Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3.

In an interview with xboxuncut, Josh Bridge (the game’s the executive producer) has confirmed that you can physically push away zombies hounding you in Dead Rising 3. All you have to do is push the controller away from you.

Another cool Kinect feature is that loud noises in the background can attract zombies. If say a family member of yours was playing Metallica really loudly, the Kinect will pick up this sound and zombies will start advancing towards you in the game.

This won't harm me any, but this will suck for folks with kids. Or who live in slightly noisy places like, say, a dorm. But how likely is it that someone in college will have a console?

Those both sound like reasons why I would never want a Kinect.

Meh. This one's not Microsoft's fault, it's Capcom's.

Microsoft likely said "Hey, you're an XB1 launch title, find a way to use the Kinect in your game." Capcom could have done a "Okay, in this sequence jump around to avoid falling debris" or "manipulate the thingee using the Kinect" or even the same gimmick that Zomie-U used of "use the kinect to put someone into the game as a zombie" but instead Capcom went for the neat idea that stops being a good idea when you start considering the real world.

Not defending the existence of the Kinect. Mine is fairly worthless as my playing area isn't big enough for the sensor to work. But this particular bad idea isn't the fault of the little camera watching your every move.

It just seems like Microsoft doesn't actually care about using the Kinect for anything other than a pretty clunky substitute for touch controls in their menus.

Ducktales was my my favorite NES game besides the Dragon Warrior series.   Might have to actually pick this one up.  Don't think I'll be spending the extra 5 bucks for a pin though.  I hope it has trophies.
