Nah, it's not fanboyism.  I don't like EA's practices over the years, but to label them the worst company in the US is silly.  There are plenty worse.

As someone who's worked for Walmart for way too damn long, I can attest to that.

A really poignant observation if I had bought any of their games, I suppose...

FYI- If you were planning on getting rid of your old PS2 games and hardware, be advised that as of June 1, 2013, Gamestop will no longer accept any PS2 stuff for trade in. I know Hastings has moved their Xbox and PS2 stuff to "please get them out of here" status as well, so your opportunites to trade stuff in will be coming to an end fairly quickly.

Bwha-haha....

Disney has decided that the exclusive publisher of all Star Wars games will be... Electronic Arts.

Yeah, I don't care.  But it's fun to hear the "EA is the worst company in the world" and "Why isn't this on Steam?" people complain to no effect. However, I do hope that they let Travellers' Tales make a Lego Star Wars game for the next trilogy though.

By the way, Joy reactor? Thanks for borrowing Nerf Now's strip and then slapping your banner on it. Real cool there. (Not griping at you, Snape. Just at the hosting site.)

This looks fun.  Let's just hope it gets back the sense of humour it lost in part 4, which was a fine game, but lost much of what I love about the series.  Having 3 leads looks promising.

Which is amusing since Sims 3 has lots of "You just did something! Would you like to tweet and post this news to your wall?" moments in the recent expansions. I'm guessing the Sims fans are much, much louder than the Sim City fans are.

Funny.  In a move that almost looks something like PR, EA decides to stop paying to license real world guns from manufactures for any of its upcoming games.  Is this EA trying to distance themselves from gun control politics?  Nope.  They just don't feel like paying the manufacturers anymore.

Rejoice, PS3 racing fans, Polyphony Digital has some news for you. That’s right—there’s a new installment of Gran Turismo, the world’s most popular console-racing franchise, and it’s (allegedly) coming in time for the holidays. Earlier today at the UK’s Silverstone race circuit, Sony held a "15 years of Gran Turismo” event where it announced Gran Turismo 6 is on its way, and despite speculation that it might be a PS4 title, it’s going to be a PS3 game.

So, EA just announced a 25th Anniversary Amazon Exclusive edition of Madden. For $100, you get:

*A Copy of Madden (duh, but it must be noted)
*17 "Ultimate Madden" teams, plus a new All-star pack each week of the season
*Oh, and a subscription to NFL Sunday ticket. Yes, that does require you to have DirectTV, and you have to sub for 2014's Sunday ticket as well, but since NFL Sunday Ticket is $300 a year... well, that's a hell of a deal if you already sub to DTV and Sunday ticket

EA spokesperson Jeff Brown has told Kotaku that "We have no games in development for the Wii U currently," which means that there are no new Wii U versions of FIFA, Battlefield, Madden, or any of publishing giant's other hit game franchises in the works.

This comes a mere six months after the Nintendo Wii U launched with several EA titles including FIFA 13 and Mass Effect 3, and less than two years after the company entered an "unprecedented partnership" with Nintendo to produce games for the console.

It's worth noting that Brown did not rule out possible future collaborations with Nintendo, but it appears as if there'll be no EA games on the troubled Wii U for the foreseeable future.

This confirmation follows the news earlier in the month that the Wii U was unable to handle the Frostbite 3 engine developed by Battlefield developer DICE. The company and its technology are owned by EA, and as many as 15 upcoming Electronic Arts titles will be powered by the advanced game engine.

Indeed, the company ran into severe troubles trying to get the current generation Frostbite 2 engine to run on Nintendo's latest console, let alone the next gen version.

It seems as if the Nintendo Wii U's relatively meager specs - which are much closer to the Xbox 360 and PS3 than the Xbox Infinity and PS4 - allied to disappointing sales have cost Nintendo the support of one of the biggest game publishers in the business.

It's worth remembering that EA's lack of support for the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast console was one of the key reasons for its failureEA's lack of support for the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast console was one of the key reasons for its failure at the turn of the millennium.

Of course, Nintendo is in a much stronger position now than Sega was in the late nineties, but this remains troubling news for fans of the house of Mario.
