I don't think that actually showing the console is a big deal.  It'll be a black box about the same size as any other Playstation.  The controller promised much more innovation, and they showed that off.

Watch_Dogs looks awesome.

Very well said.  Especially the portion about film.  Horrible analogy, trying to say that early film was unable to express emotion because of technical limitations.  Try saying that after watching The Passion of Joan of Arc.  More emotion in that film than a majority of modern films, and pretty much any video game.

More power is good news for me, because as I've said, it means my computer will start to actually be pushed.  But the article is right, power isn't everything.

Different game news: Over the years, Ziff-Davis has accumulated a number of game news sites; IGN, 1Up, Gamespy. *And UGO, kinda) Well, they're laying off the staff of three of those sites today. Instead they'll be concentrating on IGN (which is heading towards more eSports coverage) and AskMen.

I haven't read much Gamespy since the era when Gabe still worked there (illoing the Daily Victim, IIRC) but it's always sad news when yet another company slips beneath the waves.

It's probably telling that the most interesting thing they showed was Watchdogs, and that's going to be on all consoles.

Hey, there's a new Kingdom Hearts game enroute later this year!

Well, okay, it's actually an HD version of the first Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories, with some extra stuff tossed in. But, hey, it's on a console, rather than the handhelds that the series has been on for the last 8 years.

So to keep up to date, Square won't do an HD version of Final Fantasy VII and won't make a Kingdom Hearts 3 yet. Yeah, hard to see why Square's been underperforming.

Not to mention their ridiculous pricing for mobile games.

Kingdom Hearts has travelled so far into its own navel, I wonder if they can even spit out a third in the main franchise.  It seems like such a simple thing to do, and Square have made it the most ridiculous thing ever.  Think what someone like Nintendo could do with Kingdom Hearts.

They did.  I think it's called Epic Mickey. ;)

Anyways, my game time has been incredibly budgeted lately, as I'm moving and it's a rocky road to get everything settled and taken care of in the next two weeks, but I have been trying to pick up the Skyrim DLC before they jack up the prices on them.

Currently downloading Dawnguard, and noticed something unusual.  Is it...is it 666 megs to download for the XBox and PC too, by chance?  ;D
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

That was Disney, not Nintendo.  Apparently there was all sorts of rumours about the making of Epic Mickey too, with Disney rejecting a whole bunch of interesting ideas from Warren Spector in favour of the game it eventually was.

The Omni.  A 'treadmill' that translates your footsteps as key strokes for movement.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/FxwknXZ_fR0?hl=en_US&amp;amp;version=3&amp;amp;rel=0" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/FxwknXZ_fR0?hl=en_US&amp;amp;version=3&amp;amp;rel=0</a>

Treadmill was in quotes because there are no moving parts, it's just a low friction surface with special shoes.  It's just a prototype at the moment, but mixed with the Oculus Rift and you'd have a pretty convincing VR experience.
