Of course they haven't. This is the same principle as the overflow of battle royale games we had this year; Nintendo is making bank with the S/NES Classic, and so Sony rush jobbed a PS version of it to cash in on the hype.

EDIT: Didn't know the release date was before Christmas, either. That's another reason for them to cut corners, and the easiest place to do that is QA.

Why is that unfortunate? I mean even if they're Pal isn't that still basically the same as NTSC with very few differences?

It means those games are running at 50 frames per second instead of 60. 

Really hilarious to me that people now find 50 fps unacceptable, I guess those people were not even born when DOOM first came out.

It's not a straight up FPS issue, it's the fact that the games actually run differently causing issues with the gameplay. A common suggested reason for Sony to use these inferior versions is that they come pretranslated to other European languages, so less work for Sony.

That's a damn shame because it could have been such a kickass console. I really, really wish they could have obtained the licenses for rarer games on the original Playstation. If they could have done that I might actually have picked one up.

At the current moment though I'm still working on the games on my NES classic and SNES classic so I'm basically drowning in nostalgia right now.

Oh and one more thing... remember the days when you could start playing a game right away without having to go through several pages of legalese and agreeing to the terms, just so you can play the damn game? Yeah, I think those days are going to come to an end fairly soon.
