More Nintendo news, and Pak? You may want to pay attention:

Reports coming in that Nintendo will be working with Namco Bandai on the next Super Smash Brothers game.

Quote
Nintendo has revealed that the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros. will be co-developed by Namco Bandai.

Project Sora and series lead Masahiro Sakurai are still heading up the project, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata confirmed during a Nintendo Direct broadcast this morning, but Namco Bandai will be handling development.

Nacmo talent includes Masaya Kobayashi (Ridge Racer) acting as producer and Yoshito Higuchi (SoulCalibur) as director.

Smash Bros. lead Sakurai said in a written statement that keeping the project under wraps for so long - it was announced at E3 2011 - was creating "more and more speculation", which is why he decided to announce Namco Bandai's announcement now.

"I would love to provide more information, but for now, I'm going to stay quiet until I have something solid to show you," he said.

"The project has just gotten started. Bear in mind that not only are we developing two titles simultaneously, but we announced the project before we even started actual development, so I'm afraid we will likely have to keep you waiting for quite a while. Please be patient."

Namco Bandai's current prototype "looks pretty good" and is "working great," Sakurai said.

Kobayashi said of his introduction to the project: "I'm so honored to be able to join the Super Smash Bros. team - that globally popular series of which Japan is particularly proud - and work alongside Mr. Sakurai.

"All the top creators from Namco Bandai are gathered here to create a never-before-seen dream team for this project.

"We will fully utilise our experience and knowledge in action/fighting game development, technical capability, and organisation strength, and we hereby promise you that we will developer the best and most powerful "Super Smash Bros." titles ever!

Geez. Busy day.

TF2 fans? It looks like Valve and Adult Swim are going to announce something on Monday. And there's an ARG going on as well. Is it Meet the Pyro? A TF cartoon? Something that no one has even dreamed of yet? Find out more on Monday.

The ARG was a bunch of hidden codes that translated to QR files - which translated to pictures of text - which , when arranged correctly, produced two pages of a script/"transcript" of a Senate Hearing with Saxton Hale on the discussion of the "Poopy Joe" incident mentioned in the WAR! Update files - where... oh, blarg.. here.

The PS Vita Little Big Planet Beta seems to be ending and the pre-order bonuses (Which are not tied to any specific retailer for once) are being shown. It looks like you get two:

Oooh. Big Daddy sackboy.

Well, we still don't know what the Adult Swim tie-in is but Valve confirmed that Meet the Pyro is imminent, with a release in the next few days. And the first bit of news is a new games mode:

Which involves sending supplies via a rocket to poor Poopy Joe.

Oh, the AS tie-in? A hat. Signup for AS's newsletter and get one.

SimCity Social has just launched on Facebook.  I gave a try and it seems okay, though nothing spectacularly different from the other Facebook games I've played before.

There's a strong rumor that the long MIA PC version of Final Fantasy VII might be available again soon via Steam or other gaming download places.

Hey, lookie here:
http://finalfantasyviipc.com/en

That looks suspiciously like a confirmation that it's enroute. New features include achievements ,  Cloud saves (aren't all saves in FFVIII Cloud saves?), and a "booster" function to instantly increase your HP, MP and Gil to Max. So, if you just want to do the story and/or grind countless hours Chocobo racing, there you go. However, it looks like it'll be available from SE's store only.

Minimum System Requirements:

Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit) • 2GHz Processor or faster • 1GB RAM •
DirectX 9-compatible graphic card

Rome II: Total War has been announced.
http://www.creative-assembly.com/total-war-rome-ii-announced/

"Sequel announced to the 92% Metacritic-rated classic.
Encompassing one of the best-known periods in world history, Total War: Rome II will combine the most expansive turn-based campaign and the largest, most cinematic real-time battles yet seen in any game.
Total War: Rome II will sink players into the dangerous political machinations of Rome’s senate, while asking them to struggle with family dilemmas and question the loyalty of ‘friends’ and allies. Leading the greatest army ever seen into battle will be just one challenge players will face at the head of the world’s first superpower.
Will they help forge an empire? Restore the Republic? Or grasp the reins of power for themselves, and assume the hated title of tyrant? Who will they conquer? Who will they betray? Who will they sacrifice?
How far will you go for Rome?
“Our games have always encompassed a grand vision,” said Mike Simpson, Creative Director. “But we’re now pushing that vision at both ends of the spectrum. From the immense reach of the sandbox campaign right down to the human-level drama of a single warrior on the battlefield, we’re aiming for an unprecedented level of detail and scale.”
“In our 25th year of games development, it feels fitting to return to our most critically acclaimed era,” continued Rob Bartholomew, Brand Director. “There’s been a multi-generational leap in technology since the original game and we are ready to set another benchmark in gaming.”"

Final Fantasy VII confirmed to be re released for PC.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/GkXxQEe4c34?version=3&amp;feature=player_detailpage" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/GkXxQEe4c34?version=3&amp;feature=player_detailpage</a>

Bummer.  Seems to be exactly the same as it was.  I probably would have purchased it if they would have updated the graphics.  But I fear it'll feel a little too dated, especially with the dated combat system.

Yeah, I still have my PS1 copy, but when I tried to play it on my PS2 a while back the graphics hurt my eyes so bad that I gave up on it. I'm not looking for FF-XIII graphics, just smooth out all the pixels for crying out loud. Apparently all they did was make the original PC port work on Windows 7.

Looks like it.  And even though the video claims I'll get to play Final Fantasy VII like never before... considering I played the PC port when it first came out, I'm going to have to challenge you on that one.
