Surprised they are being sold individually and not packed into future sets? Will there be a new regular mario in each set? or will you only get mario in the first set?

Doom Eternal is getting review bombed over Denuvo anti-cheat

https://www.pcgamesn.com/doom-eternal/denuvo-review-bomb

The latest update to DOOM:Eternal includes a mandatory installation of Denuvo anti-cheat software that literally nobody wanted, except Bethesda. It gives them Kernel level access to your system, and has already been caught sending information to Amazon servers. This is spyware, plain and simple, and people are not happy about it. It seems extraordinarily suspect that this was added in now, rather than at launch, now that everyone who bought the game at launch can no longer refund it.

Good job Bethesda, you almost managed to release a game without any major ****-ups.

I haven't noticed any changes in performance, but many people on the Steam forums are saying otherwise.

A bit of a correction, data is being sent to Amazon hosted servers.

Annnnnnd they got rid of it.

Marty Stratton and Hugo Martin are pretty stand-up guys. And for once, review bombing actually worked. Time to remove mine and write a real review.

So if you have a Switch you’re probably familiar with joystick drift. It feels so unlike Nintendo.  Their products have been real tanks in the past. But the joysticks they are using for their joycons seem to have a high failure rate.  One of my pairs of joycons started drifting a Long time ago, and then my girlfriend dropped the other pair a few weeks ago, causing them to act up. I still have a pro controller that works fine, but the others were annoying to play with. And now it’s impossible to find a pair that aren’t super jacked up in price. And yes, I could send it in to Nintendo and they’d fix it, but then I’d have to wait who knows how long with shipping times being what they are, plus I’m sure Nintendo is busy fixing a lot of products considering how popular their system is at the moment.

So, I bought a replacement joystick kit off amazon that came with tools to change it out. So far it’s working great. I’m holding off on fixing the other pair until I see how this pair holds up. I’ve read reviews saying that it works great for a week and then drifts again. I’ll report back if it does. But for $10 bucks it’s a win so far.

Square-Enix has been taking a lot of my nostalgia dollars lately. I have the Secret of Mana collection, trials of Mana, Chocobo's Dungeon, a bunch of Final Fantasy ports.. I think after not having time for them for a while, I'm starting to rediscover the joy of the JRPG.

Official poster art for The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

Now for the bad news, from Edmund McMillin's Twitter:

Quote
Repentance is obviously still in development. we are quite far along, but still need to add a few more bosses, items, a cutscene or 2 and bonus things youll shit your ass about. our goal was end of summer, but due to the lag caused by the pandemic it may take longer.

Grr... This was originally supposed to have come out last December. Oh well, I'm still working on unlocking everything in Afterbirth+ (Delirium and Ultra Greedier can kiss my ass). I'm tempted to play Antibirth (which Repentance is partially based on), but I don't want to have to re-unlock the same stuff a second time when Repentance comes out.

It was gonna be a hard sell at $50. There were a few decent games in the Game Gear library, but it's not exactly the cream of the crop. But only 4 games each? No thanks, Sega.

Seems like a mistake to market a retro game console that you really need your bifocals for. Works against the "feel like a kid again" idea.

Looks like a cancelled arcade game from 92 is getting revived and they're trying to involve as much of the original crew as possible...

So for as little as $5, you can buy yourself 742 new indie games. All proceeds go to the NAACP.

The quality varies, to put it nicely, but there are some hidden gems in there. And a couple well-known gems, like Minit, A Night in the Woods, and Oxenfree. It's not hard to get your $5+ worth.
