Who else misses tom servo and crow?
« on: January 13, 2007, 06:00:47 PM »
As much as I enjoy Rifftrax, I must admit I wish the guest riffers were a certain cheeky, debonair and funky robot by the name of Tom Servo and his good friend Crow T.Robot. Although Rifftrax is basically MST3K Redux and Mr.s Murphy and Corbett are indeed truly geniuses in humour, I still miss those guys...so very much.

Whenever I miss the bots, I just pop my favorite episode into the DVD player and I don't miss them anymore.

I've only seen about half of MST3k's episodes, and I rarely remember what the riffs are of films that I've seen anyway.  I must've seen Manos 5 or 6 times (I know people have mixed feelings about it, but I love the pile of shit) and I completely forget any of the bots' riffs.  It's great!  ;D

I miss seeing Mike as a puppet. You know, the kind with an antenna poking out the top of his head!

It was so funny to see puppet Mike continuously looking at Crow and Servo. Cracks me up!!!!!

Question for Mike: was it fun to work the puppet? Did the other puppeteers give you a hard time for not having to work a puppet for 10 years??   :)

I got the little Crow fridge magnet and stuck him on the cover for my gas tank (the only metal part of my car's exterior) to make my nondescript maroon Saturn stand out better when looking for it in a parking lot.

I do miss Crow.  To me, Kevin's real personality is a lot like Servo.  Just take Reign of Fire, for example.  Would Servo not talk about bedding down with a female dragon to save his own house and well being and perhaps to acquire world domination at some point?  That's just one example.  Every track so far I've thought, "Wow, he really *is* Servo in real life."

I just heard my first Bill rifftrax (Top Gun) and I hope Daredevil is better.  I was highly disappointed with it.  Crow was always my fave and as Bill, he just doesn't have that same oomph for me.  I guess it's hard to make anything decent come out of Top Gun.  I'm not writing him off yet.

i always thought it was funny that there was some exuctive who thought mst3k as a regular show require charectar develpoment and a story arc.  everything even the puppets were just an excuse to make fun of the movies.  somewhere along the lines i guess bill managed to get a couple different chars instead of him making fun of stuff,  i always loved his observer voice though.

Yeah I can hear a little Tom and Crow in Kevin and Bill. It IS a bit more prominent in Kevin, but I've always suspected that the personalities of Mike and the Bots weren't much of a stretch from their actual personalities.

It's a beautiful thing about getting older and having your memory fail... everything old is new again!  ;D

Tom and Crow are always there whenever Bill and Kevin are riffing a movie, so as far as I am concerned they are never gone :)
