Is that a real poster for the movie, or fanmade? Because that is AWESOME!

that is the real thing, they had made for  comic con this week.

‘Godzilla’ Trailer Roars at Comic Con 2013
Quote from: Peter Sciretta
We’re introduced to characters first off: Cranston seems to be an engineer/investigator of some sort — we see him in hazmat gear, and later running towards a crisis event in a government installation as the rest of the staff frantically runs away. Aaron Taylor Johnson is a soldier; Ken Watanabe is seen in a control room of some kind, and Olsen as mentioned above is shown in moments that suggest she’s been a victim of some disaster. A montage of various images shows a world in crisis and deploying military forces to fight some crisis moment.

And then there’s the kaiju attack. The first monster we see is a spindly-legged insectoid thing — is this Mothra? Didn’t quite look like it, but that’s possible. The monster is attacking an airport, and there’s a great wide shot that sees the kaiju destroying a plane, which leads to an explosion the camera follows by panning across a huge set of windows, looking out from inside the airport terminal. Part of the plane’s destroyed fuselage flies right to left across the screen, and is eventually stopped as it crashes into a giant foot.

That’s the intro for Godzilla, and the creature dwarfs the other kaiju. Few shots really show Godzilla, but the scale is very effectively communicated by the relationship between the insectoid monster and our favorite lizard. The overall effect could be described — and this isn’t a literal account of the footage, but an impression of its effect — like a slow pan up from the faces of the various human characters stuck in the middle of a monster-created mess, passing a smaller beast and finally trying to focus on the father of it all, Godzilla, hidden in fire and smoke.

They released the @PacificRimMovie con footage after a few weeks didn't they? Patience everyone! @Legendary is all for the fans.

Looks like that was a fan Twitter. Still kinda shocked there was no IMAX trailer with Pacific Rim.

I think we're likely to see the first trailer with Gravity in October.

The pics come from the Facebook account of artist and Godzilla super-fan AJ Gregory (also of the fantastic heavy metal band, Giant Squid- if you like doomier, slower, sludgier metal like Mastodon, I HIGHLY recommend this group).  He was at SDCC and here's what he had to say (and FYI when he says "second model below," he is referring to Bearzilla):

Quote from: AJ Gregory
Is this what the big G will look like in his massive 2014 American made movie from Legendary? From what I saw of the actual monster, a lot of the elements in these models on display may be present in the final creature. We were only allowed in this room for about five minutes, so I snapped these as quick as possible. The first one was really high up in a display case. At the end, when we saw the actual footage of Godzilla from just his neck up, as he walks by a giant window, he's definitely a lumbering, badass, bulldog of a monster, very similar I'd say to the second model below. I couldn't be more excited. Thanks to Chris Mowry for making this all happen for me!

I think its also kind of interesting that they were only allowed to be in the same room that this model was in for only a few minutes...  Could this be what Gareth was hinting at when he kinda said that people might have been looking in the wrong direction during the Encounter?

I DO think that all this talk about the glimpses shown at SDCC kind of more or less confirm that Bearzilla is indeed more or less what we're getting... which is awesome, IMO.

Meanwhile Bob Eggleton posted his study sketch of the new Godzilla!

Quote
Here's my quick "studying the footage"(Freeze-frame, draw, freeze-frame, draw) take on the New G. High cheek bones, sunken eyes with forward vision, a dog/bear like face(Heisei G had a cat-like one!) and his spikes are smaller and start at the end on back and, thorny like ones come out of his shoulders and run down his arms. He has the dewlap on his neck and he's streamlined. Enjoy folks!

Nice! I'm very glad it isn't the redish overly spiked version we've been seeing around the internet for a while now.
