Have you seriously never heard of the Twin Peaks TV series?  I thought it was one of those things that everyone's heard of.  Like...The A-Team, or something.

Why are they fantastic?

Because they capture the essence of a dream. Go see Eraserhead.

Just be prepared for a bunch of random stuff to happen, and in the end none of it ties together or makes the piece coherent in the slightest.  It's very abstract art.  I'll watch virtually any movie, but my patience snaps when I watch Lynch.  I gave him a fair shot too...I watched Blue Velvet, Mulholland Dr., and Lost Highway.  Watching Lynch infuriates my soul.

Now, I know there are many fans of his work, and I respect that.  I'm not the guy who says "You're wrong to like those movies, they suck!"  Because it's not true, his films are a certain type, a type that I am unable to enjoy.
