So... Well... Um... How to start this off...
« on: January 10, 2007, 04:31:34 PM »
Well, I'm new to the RiffTrax forums but I'm Q & T on the Rotten Tomatoes forum. I doubt any of you know me even if you go to the RT forum anyway. But, this is the movie forum so why am I introducing myself? God knows why. So, I'm going to list my 8 favorite movies ever. Enjoy?

1. Seven Samurai
2. Pulp Fiction (Please, don't hurt me!)
3. The Third Man
4. Rushmore
5. 2001: A Space Odyssey
6. Brazil
7. Munich
8. Ran

Welcome.  Again.  That's a nice list, though I wasn't too crazy about the last third of Munich, I whole-heartedly agree with The Third Man.  Carol Reed is a god!

I so bad with top ten lists because I end up putting movies like "High Road to China" on the list and then I have to end up telling people about said movie which stars Tom Selleck and....Wilford Brimley...and then the film snob gives me a look that makes me die alittle on the inside.....

So yeah....ummm I am not good with top ten lists of movies.

unfortunatly I didn't like Ran, I seem to have a problem with the "classics" so I know that most people disagree. Also Munich was better than I thought it would be, but dramas never make my dvd collection as their replay value is limited (my opinion at least).

I think I'd go with Raiders of the Lost Ark as my all-time favorite movie.  The rest of my list, I'd have to think about for a long, long time.  Anyway, welcome!

And, SaucyRossy, High Road To China had Bess Armstrong in it as well, right?

I've never good as these kind of lists... as my memory isn't the greatest for these types of tasks. In another 10 or 20 responses I'll want to totally re-do this thing because I'll be reminded of a crapload of great movies that I didn't recall the first time around. Anywho....

In no particular order and with no regard for critical acclaim:

Empire Strikes Back
Goodfellas
The Godfather
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Predator
Airplane!
Tommy Boy (sure, it's a blatant ripoff of Planes, Trains and Automobiles... but it's still a classic)
A New Hope
Toy Story
Revenge of the Nerds (I cry inside when I think of the upcoming remake)
The Brave Little Toaster (I'm being dead serious here)
The Shining
Die Hard

Is that 10? well... close enough I suppose
