American Hardcore

If you are into hardcore (Minor Threat/Black Flag/Necros/Negative Approach/MDC etc) you need to see this flick. It is a fantastic documentary. Tons and tons of rare footage and interviews with the artists that started the hardcore scene in the early 80s. The dvd is coming out soon and is going to 90 minutes of deleted scenes and full performance footage from some of the bands.

You get to hear tons of stories from all the major players in all the regions of the US. My only dissapointment with the film is the lack of ANY footage from Tesco Vee and the Meatmen. Tesco was a huge part of the midwest scene. It may just be that he is pretty much done with playing music and he might have refused to do any of the interviews but there wasn't a mention of him at all in the flick. He started Touch and Go records for crying out loud. Other than that, the flick is still great!
