CHeesey New York City movies
« on: January 08, 2007, 06:08:53 PM »
Ok so I'm moving to NYC in a few weeks and I would love if people would list their favorite NYC movies. The cheesier the better. Top's on my list are:
Cocktail
Crocadile Dundee
Cyote Ugly.
I'm going to try and watch a few every week to get ready. Please list your suggestions and favorites!

Crocodile Dundee has got to be pretty high on the cheese list.  How about Home Alone 2?

I believe CHUD takes place in, or rather under, NYC.

Watch out for that "harmless" gas smell. And remember, LEAVE THE BRONX!

So how many of us are in the greater NY area anyway? Maybe we could all get together sometime and complain about Sketchfest being in California.

That narrows it down. There's what, 47 Jason movies?

Here's a good one for you to remember:

Escape from New York

(Seriously, do it now - while you don't actually have to escape!  Stay away!  They'll eat you alive!) ;D
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Hercules In New York, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. But sadly (or hilariously) not his voice.

You got your basic boatload of Woody Allen movies to choose from.  Weren't both Godspell and Hair filmed in New York?
For cheesy, shouldn't you be looking for movies filmed in Toronto substituting for New York?

My favorite New York movie is Arthur and it's somewhat cheesy.

Just remember, don't get stuck giving the moon to New York city.  The police arrest you for that sort of thing, no matter how drunk you are.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

That's what I'm talking about people, keep 'em coming.
I forgot "Coming to America" and both "Ghost Busters" movies.
Arthur rules. I love Christopher Cross too.

In Gremlins 2, the Gremlins work up a rousing chorus of "Start Spreding The News" which, if I interpret the lyrics correctly, is ABOUT New York. :^)

Blast. Someone already mentioned Hercules in New York. (Starring Arnold Strong.) Let's see, what else can I think of?

Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins

Hackers

The Muppets Take Manhattan (Not to be confused with the previously mentioned Jason Takes Manhattan.)

And, of course, Escape 2000.
