Search engines can be maddening. I have the landmarks, all I want to know is what that building is in between them. Looking at a google map, there's Ruby's Bar and Grill (Maybe the kids in Little Fugitive were heading out to get a refreshing Seagrams?) There's the Wheel, a bit of the Thunderbolt I think, the Parachute, so what's that damned building?

I took a quick run through 3 movies but didn't see that shot. The Warriors however, have that shot (when they ride in for the final confrontation), but it's been hand-drawn over the original image. I didn't see the image without the art overlay. Did The Warriors steal that shot from another movie? Since I got nothing else, I'll still guess...

#10 The Warriors?

That is the Stauch's Baths building. And you can't find it on Google Maps because it was torn down 40 years ago to make way for all those gambling casinos that was supposed to turn Coney Island into the Atlantic City of NYC. The ones the state refused to legalize, so tearing down most of the buildings seen in The Warriors to clear lots for those casinos turned out to be a costly mistake. It could have been worse. They were supposed to tear down the original Nathan's as well, but the family that owned it refused to move. Stauch's Bathhouse was better known to out of town tourists as The Warrior Building because of this publicity photo...

The owner allowed the building to be defaced like that because he knew he would be demolishing it to sell the lot to casino developers like Donald Trump. The graffiti remained on the building until it was torn down a year later. To this day tourists ask where the Warriors building is.

Meanwhile, the kids in Little Fugitive are walking to the spot where the Warriors were hiding when the other gang wanted them to come out to play.

Ha, all that effort paid off (though it makes me laugh that I put in all that effort, for so little glory or reward. Maybe I'll hoist a victory Seagrams)  ;)

Yeah Stuach's eluded me, even in historical sites I visited.  Now that I have that name, suddenly there it is, the baths, the graffiti...

Well, #10 certainly provided an entertaining challenge, and I appreciate the background info too, stethacantus.

Onward...

I guess it is time to give a few clues for the movies stumping everyone. All three were released in the past 20 years.

#7

#8

#9

As mentioned before, #7 is about four teenaged girls, but is NOT The Craft.  Although one of the four actresses in this film ( not pictured ) was previously known for a popular series where she played a sort of witch.

#8 is a Michal Bay parody film, and was a box office hit.

#9 Is not a Michael Bay parody. This disaster happens at the very end of the film. It is, however, the most controversial film it's director ever made.

#9 Oh hell, it's not Tideland is it? (and a train wreck accurately describes that movie. Forgive me fans of the flick, but, I do not like Tideland, at all, blech, yuk, ptooey!)

Still can't figure out #7, though I feel like I should know it.

Yes. It is Tideland.

Still can't figure out #7, though I feel like I should know it.

Everyone here should know this film. It got a loooooooooot of publicity, specifically because the actresses in it were in n R rated movie for the first time. It is a film everyone here should be aware of, but I can't say how many here have actually seen it. It was an arthouse film promoted as a raunchy teen comedy.

I think #8 is Team America: World Police

Yes. This is the one I thought was a giveaway since it seemed like everyone here has seen it. Aside from the sex scene in the uncut unrated version, this was the most memorable scene in the film, te attack on the Panama Canal

#7. Spring Breakers?

Two of the girls in the screen cap, Britt and Candy, came in at 48a on the Fictional Badass LoC.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/imDML4om8z8" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/imDML4om8z8</a>

#7 shows Britt, Candy and Cotty getting ready to rob the Chicken Shack to get money for their spring break trip. The fourth girl, Faith, is at a Bible meeting and doesn't learn about the armed robbery until after it has happened, but goes with her friends on their spring break trip anyway.
