LMFAO

I got a book on the history of newspaper comic strips and they reprinted a Blondie strip from the 30s and let me just say this about how they used to draw African Americans people in comic strips in the 1930s:  OMFG!  The media racism of the 30s and 40s has been largely forgotten these days.

Is it as bad as Bugs Bunny cartoons?

Worse.  Unless I missed a horrific Bugs cartoon along the way.

You probably did.  The worst of them would never have been aired on TV, or would have been carved up so thoroughly you never would have known what was missing.  I recall that at least one "missing" Bugs cartoon involved blackface singers (including Elmer Fudd, if my memory does not betray me).  I have not seen Warner Brothers' "lecture you before letting you watch the cartoons" DVD releases, but someone who has could fill you in much better.

At least the Casablanca shit wasn't as staggeringly offensive as Mickey Rooney in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', I've never watched that movie because of that disgusting caricature.
