I am a humble man (I am not a humble man), and I am willingly to say that I am easing up on my position concerning good movies getting riffed. Maybe my time off from forum politics and such have lightened me up, but I highly anticipated and ended up highly enjoying this. The guys seem to have a ball with it. There's a lot of smart World War II jokes that would probably go over the heads of most of my friends. The running gag about the hats went on at exactly the right length before they knocked it off. French, Germans and Italians got their fair share of rip-nudging, and there's plenty of fun anarchonistic jokes to go around.

A very well-rounded riff, I highly recommend. I know. I'm recommending a good movie riff. What have things come to!?!

Very good Rifftrax!

I loved all the running gags about Victor being willfully oblivious of Ilsa's past.

I forgot how little Peter Lorre was in this movie. He is so fun to watch I wish he had been in it more.

Hilarious rifftrax Keep going with the classics, you seem have struck a perfect tone.

By the way, I strongly recommend  Aljean Harmetz's "Making of Casablanca." Even if you're not a film history buff, it's an incredibly vivid and detailed picture of life in Hollywood during the war.

My thoughts? Meh.

It was amusing, but I wouldn't place it among my favorites. The riffing just didn''t didn't ever get above the occassional chuckle. YMMV, of course.

It was  very funny. My problem is--and I've never had this experience with any other movie they've taken on--Casablanca is so good that for the first time with any Rifftrax i wanted the guys to shut up so I could watch the movie. Maybe I should have watched it cold and then immediately after with the Riff .

"DISCONNECT!"

"I always get nervous when a German looks at me like that. You never know which way it's going to go."

"I found a curly hair in my guacamole"

"That husband of mine...blah blah blah Freedom blah blah blah Justice...Like a broken record"

Note: Although I put the quotes in quotation marks, they may not be verbatim (I think I nailed the "Disconnect!" quote pretty accurately)

(Right before the pan up to Rick Blaine)
Bill Corbett: A classic film character is about to be revealed!
Kevin Murphy: Jar-Jar Binks?
Bill Corbett: Go so to hell it's not even funny.

(Bogey lights up)
Mike Nelson: Hey, don't Bogart that!
Bill Corbett: Mike, join Kevin in hell.

I always enjoy the moments of love-hate reparte between the guys, and this was a pretty good one.

Peter Lorre was little in every movie.

may I be the first to say "mmmmademoiselle"

I'll second the trying to focus on the movie too much. But to be honest, that sometimes happens even on the worst of the MST movies.

A strange thing that happened to me: there were dvd files left on my computer after my many attempts at reauthoring that always had a slight problem (audio delay not fixed, riff audio too loud, used PAL not NTSC settings). I finally gave in and just watched it using the RiffTrax player, but instead of loading my dvd, it somehow found the dvd files on my other hard drive and loaded them. It became obvious when the riffs had an echo, and the movies audio/video were out of sync.

I've said many times that the difference to me when they review movies I like is if they get into the spirit and have fun with it (as with this, Raiders, Lord of the Rings, etc) or if they just go on about how bad they think the movie is.
