A fairly short sequence of the film where the female lead is in some state of undress, which even though it's a fairly small part of the film, is usually all over the previews.

1. Star Trek XI
2. Alien
3.  Battlestar Galactica Miniseries
4. Logan's Run

Well I know that the actual film had Grandmadaughter boobs in it, and I'm just guessing about the trailer.

I did say "usually".  So it might not actually be in the previews at all.

A mad scientist with unknown funding wants to "take over the world" with no indication of what he would do with it if he/she did.

1. MST3K: The Movie

But that is an intentional use of a cliche to point out the abundant use of the same cliche.

Granted Siedew... I mean BTA. But bad movies that had this cliche originally just needed a bud guy and didn't think about what the scientist would do with the world (or how he/she would retain control) once they got it. Neither did Best Brains. IF we don't want to include MST3K, then:

1. Bride of the Monster

To make it easy, let's just list the ones that got this right: NO SOUND IN SPACE!
1. Serenity
2. 2001
3. Star Trek (2009)

And the one that even fewer movies get right: NO GRAVITY IN SPACE!
1. 2001
2. Mission to Mars

I'm pretty sure 2001 is the only one of those movies that didn't have sound in space.

Granted I haven't seen them in a while but I remember the battle scenes being loud.
