One episode away from the Better Call Saul season finale.  Really, this show managed to top Breaking Bad and the last episode was so tense.  I hope actor Tony Dalton is more things because he is so great as a cross between a master detective and a monstrous criminal who just loves being evil.

Is it just me, or are there times when Joe Exotic looks like Eric Idle? Usually when he smiles or laughs?

The less I say about my opinions on Joe Exotic, the better.

Re-watched the directors cut of the Dune miniseries yesterday.

Can't believe that this is not streaming anywhere, and there's pretty much no HD versions of it available outside of imports that probably won't play on my systems.  DVDs looks so darn fuzzy on my 4K TV.  Should have watched it on my TV in the living room but wanted the surround sound.

I finished the first series of Stranger things and... my opinions are mixed. I do like it, it's definitely an interesting blend of all kinds of nostalgic 80's style creature features. But at the same time I never found it really all that compelling. I had to force myself to sit through the first season which if I'm being honest could have been contained in a feature length movie. It's definitely nowhere near as great as The X-files was in it's prime from season 1 to season 7.

On the plus side? Cara Buono is one hell of a milf! Winona Ryder's not bad either! Hubba Hubba Hubba!  ;D

I think you need to re-visit Season 1 of X-Files again. It, uh, does not age well. Like, at all. Except the last few episodes. Then Season 2 really takes off.

There were plenty of great episodes in season 1. In addition to the pilot there's Deep Throat, Squeeze, Fallen Angel, E.B.E., Ice, Tooms, and The Erlenmeyer Flask. X-files is imho anyway a lot more compelling and kept me wanting more.

Wow. I stand corrected. My memory is that most of those were in Season 2, because, yeah, a lot of those are great eps. I think it's the ones that aged worst like Ghost In the Machine stick out as being more emblematic of the first season. Just may have to rewatch the whole series for a third time.

The Devil You Know
True crime show on Vice. 5 episodes allegedly about a cult like dude killed some people. Didn't make any kind of case for a cult, was too repetitive at times, and generally made North Carolina look like it was full of pyschotic drug addicts. Was interesting at times, but would have made for a better 1 1/2 hour documentary vs 5- 45 minute episodes.

Season 2 of After Life

This season eases up on the darkness a bit, the show is still dealing with death and depression but there is a bit more light comedy and a bit more hope in this season vs. the first one.

Season 2 of Dead To Me

Christina Applegate is so awesome in this season, she deserves and award for this show.

Finished season one of Solar Opposites.  It was entertaining, some good laughs.  Could have done without the "in the wall" stuff.

The wall scenes weren't always the strongest, but I think it can develop into something bigger in another season.

I think the subplots involving the Pupa are far better diversions though. I hope they lean into those more.
