I felt the urge...but then I didn't.

I did read somewhere that yawns are in fact contagious...

Oh bugger, I yawned.   ;D

I read in a recent issue of Discover magazine that it has to do with your subconcious' empathy.

I'm just trying to discern whether it is a purely audible sensation or if there is a visual aspect to it.

I just had a long day.

I was reminded that I needed to yawn.

And yes, yawning people/pictures of yawning people make me yawn.

*yawn again*

Yes.  After about 60 seconds of resistance, I finally became too conscious of it and gave into the yawning temptation.  Hey..."The Yawning Temptations" would make a good name for a band!  Maybe we could start one with I dunno...one of the "Guitar Hero" folks on guitar...DisembAudio on bass...Mike on vox...J-Proof on keyboard...and me on drums.  I kick ass at drums.

I yawned , but then again I had like 1 hour of sleep last night so...
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Yeah. Contagiousness definitely has to do with the mind instead of a chemical rxn. It seems that gammer is the least empathetic one of all. Mwahahahaha. I don't know why that deserved an evil laugh.

In my case, even talking about yawning makes me yawn. I actually yawned twice while writing this message.

Weird, huh?

And talking about you talking about yawning makes me want to yawn.  I'm restraining myself right now.  Let's see how many degrees of separation it takes (i.e. talking about me talking about SASD talking about yawning, etc.) for the urge to disappear.

Didn't yawn nor do I feel the urge even after reading the thread.

But then, I'm known for being something of an abnormal mutant.  ;)

Nope no yawning for me. But i think they did test this on Mythbusters on Discovery Channel and i think they did say it was confirmed that for the majority of the time it is contageous (i could be wrong. someone help me with this one)

That reminds me of a deleted scene from The Convict episode of The Office.

Didn't yawn, but I sighed, which really is just a less conspicuous yawn.
