The differences in lighting make the transitions rather jarring, with Buffy's warm tone colors and Twilight's cool bluish glow.

The staking looks good though.

Something's nagging at my memory though. Didn't the Buffy series have a bland, broody, vampire love interest who stalked an underage girl and was several decades her senior?

No one's denying the similarity.  But Angel didn't suck.  And Buffy killed him too (he got better and got an awesome series).

Angel did suck. Quite hard near the end of Season 3, if you'll recall. :P

Angel didn't suck as badly as Edward, but I still found him to be a very bland and unengaging character.

IDK about that... just saw an episode where they were transported to some alternate dimension where sun doesn't cause vamps to be laid to burnination and he kept saying extremely humorous things like... "See how not on fire i am!" And "I'll go grab that  branch over there... in that patch of sun, i do it all the time!"

And there is an accepted level of sucking with vampires, kinda comes with the territory (yes i am making a terrible pun)

In Twilight the vampires sucked the whole way through... and not just that horrible part where he was getting the "venom"out of her arm and she was making post-aneurysm orgasm faces.<twitch>  :gouge:

Now, see: I liked the Pylea episodes.  Most of season 2 was filled with a lot of dark shit.  Darla getting resurrected, only to be turned back to a vampire.  And ANgel getting really fucked up, and driving away Wesley, Cordy, and Gunn.  The show needed a little respite from all the drama, and the Pylea episode are some of my favorites, mainly because they were very Lorne-centric.  To me, Angel Season 4 was the most sucky-iest , what with Cordy's pedophilia and borderline incest(eeww!!....just......ewww!!).  The only decent parts were when Angelus returned for a little while, and Faith and Willow popped in. And i can't say enough on how i hate Pre-season 5 Conner.  Basically, season4 of Angel was when they pretty much ruined Cordy.

Ah. I've never even watched Angel: the series. To me Angel still was, and always will be, a rather tiresome supporting character in Buffy the Vampire slayer.
