How does Legend know the guy who did the pot interview?
« on: December 30, 2006, 05:40:18 PM »
(If you haven't seen the Reefer Madness DVD, this will make no sense to you)

Rifftrax Team,

How does Legend know the guy who did the pot interview?  Some random person that a staffer knows?  Or something entirely more sinister than knowing the real answer will likely get me kicked out of N.O.R.M.L.?

<cough cough>

I thought he was hilarious.  He reminds me of some of my old teachers.

Well they do have a feature on the disc where the guy goes on and on and on and on about stuff in no particular order... I don't know if that was before or after he burnt one.

Pot Guy? The only pot person I can recall is Apple's "Pot Girl".  She was quite hot, if I remember rightly.

I just keep wondering about the guy's cat - the one that kept nibbling on his plant. I've seen cats that have been given weed - it screws them up pretty bad. (Not that I've I've ever been around this mary jauna stuff...)

It depends how much the cat actually ends up inhaling. I've seen a couple of very well, dopey, cats who've been subjected to too much second-hand reefer. Y'know how a cat is when it's got catnip? They're like that all the time. That can't be good.

my cat was born hyper, its just funny when "hypothetically" I can include him into the circle.

It is fun, hypothetically. ;) Just don't overdo it. I think it's especially bad for little kittens. I'll have to ask the girlfriend - she's a vet tech.

I assume you mean Ellen Feiss:

(RE: Apple's Pot Girl) who swears she wasn't on anything.  Is it sad that I immediately knew who you were talking about?  This geek thing is getting scary...I need a life.  ;D

We used to see animals who had accidentally swallowed pot in the emergency vet clinic I volunteered for when I was thinking about vet school (the clinic that made me decide to never be a vet because I'd end up punching people in the stomach).  I'm sure it occurs more often than we saw and people just don't care.  My fave was this stoned guy who was more concerned about getting the pot back undamaged than his dog.  His words were something like "Just slice him open and get it out."  Umm...yeah, I'm really going to cheer us a) slicing open a dog for your illegal drugs and b) getting the small pot leaves out of the GI tract of a dog.  If the dog was showing symptoms, chances are you "dime bag" or whateverthehell has opened in there, genius.  I seem to remember, in practice, that the vets were more concerned about aspiration than the effects of the pot (well, aspiration caused by the general goofiness that pot helps to create).

In pharmacy school, we read a bit about the lethal doses of pot and of course, those studies were done in animals.  While in general, any dose of pot isn't good, [/McGruff the Crime Dog] the lethal dose is pretty high.  Generally the effects on animals, even when directly ingested, wear off in a couple of hours to days but the drug stays in anyone systems for a long time.  I also had to go NA meetings for that class.  That's enough to make you never want to use drugs.

I'm sure the stoners quote the same studies to prove that pot is harmless.  I, on the other hand, knowing many a stoner, beg to differ.  If nothing else, pot ups your chances of being punched in the face and left for dead by at least 60%  :D

I thought that old guy was funny. The cat is obviously used to knawing on the plant, so it seems to not be harmful to it.

But, yeah, I was also wondering how Legend knew that guy. It's somebody's dealer. ;)
