Anyone know if there's any forced subs in Star Trek Generations?

I'm pretty sure (at least the NTSC version) the alien subtitles are on the movie itself, not a subtitle track.

You do realize that message is over a year old.

Awesome, thanks a million Shinigami. I rely on your subtitles for all of my DVD re-authors.  :highfive:

That may cause comedy overload if viewed with the Rifftrax commentary.

Can someone provide directions on how to re-author with two sets of substitles? FOr example, I see that XXX has a standard subtitle and a forced subtitle. How should I re-author my DVD, using Ifoedit to mux the data?

If you have both subtitles, you can add more than one subpicture file in Ifoedit, just like you can add more than one audio file. You just have to make sure they're SUP files, not text.

Ok. So i assume I will need to toggle to either the standard subs, or the forced subs. Which is fine...can you describe what exactly forced subs are, and why I would use these in place of the standard subs?

"Forced subs" are subtitles that the original dvd turns on automatically. Usually its the subtitle track that just translates the foreign/alien language lines and doesn't show up for any other line.

Got it. Thanks for the info, RF.

Is there any chance of getting an srt of the first two episodes of Heroes combined?

Just wanted to chime in to say thanks for the subtitles.  I've been having a hell of a time ripping them myself and they really help improve my Rifftrax experience.
