Subtitles
« on: December 28, 2006, 10:23:57 PM »
Last Updated 1/29/2011

After a long hiatus I finally got my files re-uploaded. Let me know if you find any broken links.

http://sites.google.com/site/rifftraxreauthor/subtitles

I've been compiling .srt files for creating subtitles and decided to put links in one place for convenience.  These are the complete subtitle tracks.  I will include forced subs when I encounter them and they will be appropriately labeled.

Special Files

This kit contains the files necessary to add normal sub and Backstroke of the West subs to your DVD.  Despite including the normal subs, I am keeping this seperate since extra steps are require to include these in your DVD.  Instructions are posted in this thread and in the kit.  Thanks to marioxb of originaltrilogy.com for the files.
Revenge of the Sith/Backstroke of the West SUP Kit NTSC/PAL

This .ifo file contains the default CLUT table, the colors of your subtitles, used by muxman.  You can use this file in Subtitle Creator by clicking "File->Open Palette" and selecting this .ifo.  This will select the four palette colors in Subtitle Creator.  If you compile the .sup with this palette, you won't have to do anything after you've compiled the DVD in muxman.  Otherwise, you have to correct the CLUT after the DVD compilation.  Instructions on how to do that are posted in this thread.  This can also be used with ifoedit/rejig since they allow you to specifiy a .ifo at compile time.  Simply use this file with both Subtitle Creator and ifoedit/rejig and your subs will always be the correct color.

Didn't someone provide a link to download the subs for xXx?

I'll see if I can find it somewhere...

Well, that's just by default since nobody else will do them and I want them.

I just put this up for another thread, but thought I might as well throw Battlefield Earth NTSC in here too.  These were just taken from opensubtitles.org and converted so I can't speak to how perfect they are.  Making the subtitles is just a little too tedious for me, so thanks for saving me the hassle more than once so far Shinigami.

Not a problem, I've gotten a bit behind but I managed to get caught up this weekend.  I'll have Over the Top and Aeon Flux ready as soon as they arrive through netflix.

Shinigami,

I used your xXx 'forced sub' srt and it worked great. It was in sync and no issues.
I used with DVD Lab Pro 2.2 for authoring.

Thanks,
gammer

Not a problem.

I just remembered something I should point out.  The Halloween and Point Break subtitles will be a little off.  There were downloaded online and had to be manually adjusted since they were designed for a DVDRip.  I hope to get a proper rip of Point Break in the future, but if I remember correctly the Halloween DVD didn't even have subtitles so I couldn't rip anything.

Would anyone in the mac universe be interested in some DVD Studio Pro formatted Subtitle files? If so i can post em up but if not i dont think i am going to waste my time converting them all.
