The harvest festival was in the field, but it wasn't a park.  It was just in the field.

I just found out Nick Offerman has his own wood shop. They make some very cool, very expensive shit.

Offerman Wood Shop

I'm definitely getting the OWS cap! Might have to get the "American Ham" shirt as well; it's pretty awesome.

Didn't he actually make the canoe in that episode?

I wouldn't doubt it for a second. Apparently, the writers included Ron's affinity for woodworking based on Nick. He even has a DVD out titled Canoe Building with Nick Offerman. The canoes on the site are amazing.

I'm thinking about buying one of the cribbage boards for an x-mas gift for my mom. It's $300, but they're really nice, and she's a complete cribbage nut. It'd probably be the coolest gift I've ever given her.

That does look nice.  (I have no idea how to play cribbage, nor ever known anyone who did.)  Does she know the show?

She tried to teach it to me when I was a kid, but I didn't have the patience. I was never much for card games, anyway. I tried to get her into the show, but it wasn't really her cup of tea. She has pretty good taste in shows, but prefers the standard sitcom format.

Wow.  That sort of negativity is so uncharacteristic of you, Imrahil.  What brought that on?

Parks and Recreation
The Thursday night comedy starring Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman and Aziz Ansari will return for a fourth season (22 episodes) after boosting the network's fortunes in the Thursday at 9:30 slot after its midseason move. The comedy created by The Office's Greg Daniels from Mike Schur remains a critical darling, with Poehler earning a pair of lead actress nominations and the series scoring one last year as well.

Fuck yeah! Full season!!! WOOOOOO!!!

The most amazing thing is, apparently that guy he was geeking out over actually is a legend in woodworking circles. They could have just made up a guy, but they went the extra mile for the most obscure cameo ever.

It's a heartwarming story, but it's just not believable. Which is why I'm giving E.T.......one-and-a-half stars.
