Shameless plug time. "Table Scraps", my latest episode of "Fangoria's Dreadtime Stories" (Yeah, I know) hosted by Kirk-killer Malcolm McDowell can be heard here for the next month:

You can also buy it for $1.99. I think it turned out pretty awesome.
Tripe H. Redux:
So here's something: The BBC adaptation of the Foundation Trilogy from '73.
Going to download these for listening in the car when I get home tonight. :)
It features vocal performances from both versions of the charred and crispy Master.
Dr Ahmad Makhini:
BBC reading of "At the Mountains of Madness" - gotta hurry only a day or so left to hear the whole thing.0

That reminds me...got one for the "Things fictional characters would never say."
Imrahil:
On Tripe's recommndation I've been listening to "The Sofa of Time," a one-off 6-part comedy series featuring Nick Frost (from Simon Pegg's movies and Spaced), Matt King (Superhans from Peep Show) and Mark Heap (Big Train, Green Wing). Pretty great so far. Funny, but also really clever, and really aurally rich. A lot of BBC comedy shows are done live so they're not really in great stereo, whereas the soundscape on this one is really immersive (I listen to it on headphones, and the various noises are all over the place in terms of "direction"--very huge soundstage).
It's more or less taking the piss out of fantasy stories, but not really any one in particular, and not in a mean way.
