http://www.gog.com is offering the original Dungeon Keeper for free today. No strings. Just click and get! They've also got a big sale on  Dungeons and Dragons games. (We're talking Baulder's Gate/Icewind Dale/Neverwinter Nights...) You can get them all for around $20.

Dungeon Keeper 2 is also on sale for $1.50.  That's two complete Dungeon Keeper games for less than the $5 it would cost you to buy the lowest amount of gems you can buy in the free to wait version that EA put out for mobile.  I've never played these games, but ever since all the controversy around the mobile version, I've been wanting to try them.

Been playing The Simpsons Tapped Out since I got an iPhone (had a Windows phone before) and it's turned into one of those things where you tell your characters to do something and tap stuff for about 5 minutes and then wait several hours to come back to it. They give you some donuts that you can use to speed things up, but I blew through them pretty quick in the first few tasks and now it's just a lot of waiting.

Ahh, the pay to wait formula. And surprise, surprise, EA is balls deep in it.

Which is precisely the point of those games, to bore you into giving them money.

It's so tragically sad, isn't it?

I played the Civ that came out in the early 2000's and became thoroughly bored, I'm up to give it a try again though. I just remember the tutorial taking 2 hours and being very convoluted and considering I never played a strategy game I liked, except Company of Heroes, I passed.
