What I'm really hoping for is for a significant savings on Anno 2070. I love the Anno series to death, and the future setting sounds extra cool to me, but it hasn't gone on sale or dropped in price even a little since it came out back in December. 30% is OK, but I sense a significant savings will arise during this sale. I'm biding my time for now...

And alas, only 50% off.

Hmm.... But the Anno 2070 collection, which has $24 worth of DLC included is 66% off, which also comes to $25, but hey! Free DLC.. Decisions, decisions...

Know anyone with a Steam account in Russia? It's selling for $12 there, apparently.

Argh! Steam's network of spies must have heard me talking and they lowered the discount on the complete pack. It's now $29.99.

What the heck? I'm having a kid soon. Need to treat myself. :^)

I think Tyrant may disagree with you on that.

That Strategy First Collection sale at Steam sure looks interesting.  Just not sure I want to get that many games all at once...

There's actually only 9 titles in there. There's just a gajillion expansion packs, especially for Magica. Personally though, I'd hold out for a collection that has Heart of Iron and Victoria in it. Both Amazon and Steam have had rather nice Paradox packs lately, for much less than $50.

After starting to add DLC to my cart, I came to the realization that I'd bought Arkham City somewhere else.

Whoops.

Oh well. It's not like this is the only time and place where it'll ever go on sale.

Maybe you're looking at a different collection, this is the one I'm talking about:

For things that aren't heavily discounted already, wait for a daily sale.  It's always cheapest then, and you won't feel like an idiot when you could've saved a bunch of money if you'd have waited a couple of days.  Don't worry if you miss any particular game, as Steam usually puts them ALL on sale on the last day for just that reason.

Not to pile on, what with the Steam Summer Sale still in full swing, but I just picked up the Dungeons & Dragons Anthology for $13.98 at Best Buy.  I didn't even know it existed until I walked into the store.

I mention this not because it has the full Baldur's Gate series with expansion packs (it does), nor because it has the entire Icewind Dale series (it does), and definitely not because it has The Temple of Elemental Evil (it does, but who cares?)  I don't even mention it because all of the above have been updated to run properly on XP/Vista/7 (they have).

I mention it because it includes Planescape: Torment, the most fascinating (and most obscure) RPG I've ever played.

If you have even a passing interest in RPGs or BioWare/Black Isle, I highly recommend grabbing this while you can.  It would be a bargain at fifty clams, but they're selling it for a fistful of mussels.
