I ended up buying:

Vanquish (which wasn't actually on sale, but $20 isn't bad, and the game is awesome)
GalCiv 3 Crusade (This is what GalcCiv 3 should have been from the start)
Rabi Ribi (I keep hearing good things about this from Metroidvania fans)
Giga Wrecker (cool puzzle platformer from the makers of Pokemon)

So Prey is 50% off on steam. I known some of you are playing it. Is it worth it?

Mass Effect: Andromeda is 11 bucks on Amazon right now. That's the deluxe edition. Regular is $10 flat. I think it's time to find out if the critics were too hard on this thing.

Damn, it's only for the console versions.

The Steam sale is going on, so there are lots of great bargains, but since a lot of us are still all nostalgic over the 16-bit games list, I thought I'd point out that the Steam Sale applies to the Sega Mega-Drive and Genesis Classics bundle. $15.75 gets you 59 Genesis games. They're not ALL winners, but at a little more than a quarter per game, you can't complain too badly.

That's:

Alex Kidd™ in the Enchanted Castle, Alien Soldier, Alien Storm, Altered Beast™, Beyond Oasis, Bio-Hazard Battle™, Bonanza Bros.™, Columns™, Columns™ III, Comix Zone™, Crack Down™, Decap Attack™, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine™, Dynamite Headdy, Ecco the Dolphin™, Ecco™ Jr., Ecco™: The Tides of Time, ESWAT™: City Under Siege, Eternal Champions™, Fatal Labyrinth™, Flicky™, Gain Ground™, Galaxy Force II™, Golden Axe III, Golden Axe™, Golden Axe™ II, Gunstar Heroes, Kid Chameleon™, Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole, Light Crusader, Phantasy Star II, Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom, Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium, Ristar™, Shadow Dancer™, Shining Force, Shining Force II, Shining in the Darkness, Shinobi™ III: Return of the Ninja Master, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast™, Sonic CD, Sonic Spinball™, Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Space Harrier™ II, Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage 2, Streets of Rage 3, Super Thunder Blade™, Sword of Vermilion™, The Revenge of Shinobi, ToeJam & Earl, ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, VectorMan 2, VectorMan™, Virtua Fighter™ 2, Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair, and Wonder Boy in Monster World.

I just picked up the Humble Brawler Bundle, which includes Skullgirls. I already have the game, so if anyone wants the code hit me up.

So South Park: The Fractured But Whole is on sale on Steam for $24.  Anyone here play it?  Does that sound worth it?  Original reviews weren't that great, but $24 isn't a bad price.

GOG has RiME on sale for $18, anyone here played it?  It looks interesting but I've read a lot of mixed reviews.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Very pretty game. I’d say it’s worth that price.

I dunno if this is a bargain... but I just bought Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia used on Ebay for a little over 30 bucks. It seems like that game is getting a bit rare and hard to find. I find that a little ironic since the two previous Castlevania games(Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of ruin) seem to be easier to find and are readily available for purchase somewhere in the 20 to 30 dollar range.

Just wanted to say that I’m proud of myself for not buying anything yet during the Steam summer sale, and instead starting a game I already purchased during a previous sale that I never got around to playing (Prey).

Well I caved.  My wife wants some time away from me to sort things out.  She still loves me a lot but she's feeling trapped and needs to figure out what she wants in life.  It's all very depressing, but the most important thing to me is that she's happy, so I'll support whatever she needs to do.

Sooooo I'm going to have some extra spare time that I'll have to fill with video games to distract myself from the pain of separation, and I figured I should take advantage of this steam sale while it's still going.  The potential loss of your wife and partner is no reason not to be frugal, that's what I always say.

Let's see, I picked up Pillars of Eternity II, Sailaway, and Bokida.  Thought about going with a full on nautical theme and getting Raft instead of Bokida, but it was more expensive and I want to wait until Raft is out of early access.  Should be enough there to keep me a happy little vegetable for a few weeks at least.

So it's not EXACTLY a bargain, but Okami was just released in HD on the Switch. It is a wonderful game if you think you'd like a Zelda style game that's a little bit more action-heavy. It's only being released digitally in the states, but if you want a physical copy, you can import it here:

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/HAC-P-AM7SA?s_ssid=e44ad65b6c8e7ad666

Where it only costs about $30 after shipping. $10 isn't bad to get a physical copy.
