I just saw the first episode. Man, that was a weird experience. I haven't watched MTV for about 10 years. Seeing clips from their shows, commercials, and some odd music videos makes me feel even more detached from today's youth culture. Most times when I feel that gap, it makes me feel old or remorseful, but not this time. I can't get far enough away from that stuff.
What I found most strange was that Beavis and Butthead were the most mature and intelligent part of the experience. They were clever, witty, and knowing in a way that I never remember them being before. They made fun of Jersey Shore's brainpower, and insulted the parents of the kid in the MGMT video. It was really cool to see that Mike Judge has only gotten better after his foray into other projects, and I hope he keeps it up. I will keep watching for sure.
