Riffable Games
« on: December 22, 2006, 04:19:09 PM »
It's a pity we can't sync a Rifftrax into video games because some of them have cinematics with such bizarre translation they beg to be made fun of. So what games do you think would make the best Rifftrax if it were possible?

My short list:

Resident Evil 1 (The original version.)
Shenmue (1 or 2.)
House of the Dead 2!

I havent played it yet (and i dont think i will) but the New Sonic the Hedgehog for xbox 360. From what i saw it was a waste of development time that could have been spent on something more productive.

From a pure riffing perspective, there are any number of video games from the "full motion video CD-ROM" era of the early 90's. The majority of the Wing Commander series starring Mark Hamill I remember as being kinda goofy. Not to mention probably anything ever released for the SegaCD add-on for the Genesis.

Didn't the PC version of Rebel Assault II have an MST3K Easter Egg?  There has to be SOMEONE in this incredibly geeky forum who can verify this.

Ding ding ding we have a winner folks.

For what it's worth, Seanbaby (yes, I'm bringing him up again) makes a career out of doing the closest thing possible to riffing videogames. It's probably funnier than what Mike Nelson would be able to come up with, I dare say. Nothing against him, but I doubt he has the requisite nerd-knowledge of videogames.

That's a fun article.  I actually owned Night Trap when I was younger and it was truly awful.  I could never get very far into it though, as I was more concerned with the possibly nudity of the girls rather than saving them.  Anyone know of a website with the video of the game on it?

Don't forget Sewer Shark, the game where you drove around in a sewer shooting mutant rats.

Not a mention of Daikatana? All I can ever think of is the Laziest Men on Mars tune.
