That does suck but at least we get an ending. I think we are going to see more and more series like this that only go on for 16 episodes then ends. I just seems that is they way the broadcast nets are going to go.

You know, oddly, I'm not at all upset by this. Lots of shows from other countries only have a limited amount of episodes-why not American shows? And besides, at least this will prevent future ERs and Simpsons-shows that go on way, way too long.

I feel the same way. While part of me is frustrated that all the best shows get canceled early, I kind of like that it prevents them from going stale.

I don't watch any prime-time shows hardly ever, especially ABC because of them cancelling Battlestar Galactica (1978) after only one season..

Now, see....ABC airing that show started me turning away from prime-time shows....

And then, this same network gave us six brilliant episodes of Max Headroom: Twenty Minutes Into the Future as a summer replacement...only to lobotomize it when they took it on as a regular series....

This is why I'm loving bitTorrent TV on DVD....if a show starts out brilliant only to turn moronic, no time wasted.

I'm still miffed about Pushing Daisies not getting a resolution.

Hell, I'm still pissed that "Dark Shadows" didn't get a proper ending....stuff happens.

My apologies to the keen observers of detail that noticed I posted this is the wrong section.

I just really wound up enjoying this show, but of course it's a one-trick pony. Once the plot contrivance is revealed the show falls apart, so maybe it's better to let it die young.

I think the issue here might have been them conceiving the show as an ongoing series when the British version was intended as a limited one.

Limited series aren't really an American TV specialty.

Guess we figure what are the chances they'll replace it with something good?

Exactly.  Can you imagine what Fox is going to put up on Sundays at 8 once Simpsons is finally done?  I mean, if you don't like the show now (I still do; it's different, I grant you, but I still find it amusing), think of the crap that could be on in its place.  I mean, look at how many times Fox has tried to replicate Married with Children over the years with little to no success (that show with Craig Bierko, that other one with Michael Rappaport...so good I can't even remember their names off the top of my head).

The only new animated show I've heard Fox is trying to get put on is "The Pitts."  And you all saw how America howled with laughter during the live-action version.

The original british version was much better anyway.  The guy who played the boss in the british one was incredible.  Harvey Keitel is a good actor, but this was not his best work.

Oh no, now Harvey Keitel will have to get a job playing a badass character somewhere else!
Dammit, Maverick! Why don't you play by the rules?!

For that matter, they're still looking for their new "The X Files".

"Unhitched".  That recent story about Travis the Chimp in Connecticut puts a whole new spin on the episode with the orangutan, doesn't it?   :D

I was going to say Star Wars would probably be on Fox, but apparently Lucas decided it should be on HBO so all the fans who swore they'd never pay him another cent would have to pay him another cent.
