All Time Worst Television Network/Channel Executives
« on: February 26, 2009, 12:22:19 PM »
It could either be from the past or present, cable or broadcast. Which major TV executive was the most incompetent at the job, and did the most damage to their respective network's reputation and/or progress (for example, Fred Silverman during his time at NBC in the late 1970s-early 1980s)?

Easy, the female Sci-Fi Channel exec who not only canceled MST3K, but also usshered in the crappy Sci-Fi original movies that are at the forefront of the reasons the channel is a joke nowadays.

Whoever runs G4. Seriously, is there anything left on that channel that even has to do with games? Or is it all Cops reruns and Cheaters now?

While I agree with you there I would like to add that they did help feed and clothe me when my boyfriend worked on the special effects for Mammoth.  He hesitantly puts it on his resume because the movie was so horrible

Sci-Fi channel was always a joke, MST3k was their best show and they showed it at 10:30 at night on a saturday, and at 8:00 am on a sunday.  Thank Vishnu I had a VCR.  Them's drinking and hangover times.
On timeout

Is Attack of the Show still on? If not, then yeah, they just lost all their marbles. If they screwed with AotS to where it has nothing to do with games or electronics anymore, they still suck.

Um, they have two shows and the rest is filler. That's more than CBS can say.

Who cares if it "has to do with games"? They never said it had to. And to answer your question, yes. Which disqualifies you from commenting since you didn't know that.

Also, you're Hitler, whoever I'm quoting.

Actually, the original tagline was "Videogame TV", so yeah, it was supposed to do with games. Not that it stopped Tiles from pissing in gamers faces and creating yet another venue for lowest common denominator programming.

I don't know any executives by name, but the idiots who kept shifting Freaks and Geeks around and throwing it in the worst conceivable time slots has my nomination.

Perhaps predictably, I throw in a slight reference to Neal Tiles on the G4 forums, and certain people around there don't like it:
