Just got word that my cousins got out and made it to Calgary and Edmonton.
They are all flying back to Nova Scotia so that's good news.
Still sounds pretty bad though as people are running out of gas trying to escape :-[

Today's official high: 59 degrees with a cold rain falling off and on..
Tonight's low will be in the mid 40s. :speechless:
That may not sound like a big deal but here in the Carolinas, we're usually entering the heat and humidity season but so far it seems to have been 'delayed' for the time being :o
My wife is all bundled up with the heat on and not wanting to move ::)

It's the middle of May and today's high near Charlotte, NC will barely reach 70 degrees and tonight's low will be 47 which would be close to a record :o
Normally we'd be sweltering here in 90s with lots of humidity so we're not complaining about this at all! 8)

    • Yep, I have a deviantART gallery. But it's pretty cheerful drawings-- no angsty poems or black-and-white photos of wooden chairs.

I'm told it snowed in some parts of the area this morning. Either it didn't snow in my neighborhood or it melted by the time I got up-- I slept in a bit.

Still, it was unseasonably cold this weekend. I think it hit 42 today, which, okay, as a Douglas Adams fan, COOL. But as someone who cherishes this brief period of pleasantness between the winter and muggy summers. . . not a fan of days like this.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

I don't find Stratton and Varney funny.
Doesn't make me a bad person.

I'm from Upstate NY, and I had never heard that term until on MST3K. Is that maybe more of a upper mid-west term?

We just said "Cold," or "fucking cold."  One guy I knew said "colder than a witch's tit," but he was an asshole, so I don't use that phrase.

It was lovely here today. Highs in the mid-60s. Fucking brilliant spring we've had this year.
