Channel 7 just said 30+ inches of heavy wet snow here. Wind gusts up to 60 mph.
And my wife still has to go in to work because the people who determine whether or not Comcast is open or closed are based out of Philly.
Gees! I wouldn't let her go in
Thankfully it's only about a 2 mile drive. Her new boss is one of those "THE JOB IS YOUR #1 PRIORITY IN LIFE" types.
Oh I have one of those bosses too
The entire Firm where I work is that way.
I left NYC at 7:30 a.m. and it was snowing pretty hard by then. Maybe half an inch to an inch on the ground. But as the train went through New Jersey it turned to rain or nothing. It was depressing, the snow looked so pretty and then it was just miserable rain. I'm really sorry it's not snowing here.
I'm glad that someone kind of gets me on the whole "snow is better than rain" thing. I feel like I'm pissing into the wind with that one most of the time, and most people would, judging by their reactions, rather live in tropical India.
I know, most people look at me like I've lost my mind when I say I like snow. There's a lot to love about it, in my opinion, and really only one thing to not love about it -- driving in it. Even that's kind of an adventure. I've never minded driving in the snow.
I have one friend I talk to (the one I write with, the one who published that book without my permission) and I just don't even mentioned snow to her, so awful is her reaction. Even if we're supposed to get snow or discussing the weather. I get tired of hearing "Ewwwww" and then a diatribe about how gross snow is.
