Yeah it's really nice here now but the temperatures will plummet some 20-30 degrees by tomorrow :o

Been really cold the past few weeks.  I leave for school between 5 and 6 AM.  I go to the gym for an hour before hand and need to get on the bus by 7:37 at the latest.  Every morning when I go, the morning dew is frozen on my car's windows, so I'm going through a lot of that spray-on de-icer to get rid of it.

Anyway, it looks like we're getting a slight reprieve with highs of 56, 61, and 65 on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday respectively.

Does the car's defrost and a scraper not work?

Reminds me I have to get another one of these:

I broke the scraper end off last winter, switched to a regular short scraper but it's so much nicer having the combination thing.

The rear window's defroster doesn't work, probably because I dropped the fuse that connects to it and didn't replace it in the right socket last month when I was diagnosing a starter issue.  I could try again at getting the fuse back in there, but I'd rather not tempt fate on that starter by screwing with the fuses again.

The front doesn't have any kind of defrost, and I've never heard of a car that does.  Cars have interior defoggers that clear off mist on the inside, but don't do anything for exterior ice.

It does work for ice if you wait long enough for the engine to warm up and hot air is blowing onto the windshield.  Another reason I love remote start, as long as I remember to leave the dial in defrost I can start it up from inside and by the time I get out there it's warmed enough to start melting.

Our van has a de-icer for the front windshield.  I'd never seen one before, but man does it make scraping much faster than relying on the defroster to warm up.

I lick my windows free of ice.

Which reminds me, we finally got a light dusting of snow.

It's been awful here, lately. It's cold, wet, and worst of all, dark. I'm constantly amazed how much of an effect the weather can have on my overall mood.  I know a lot of people love winter, but for some, it can be a real struggle.
