Foggy and humid. I can stand heat fine but every time it gets humid my stomach gets really messed up.  i hate the summer.

Actually, it's still Spring.

I could tell, since we started getting weather in the 60s in February, that we would be in for a brutal summer.

Are they the friendly type of aliens who will invite me to watch the super bowl on their 5000 inch view screen or are they the type of aliens who will suck out my brains so i will think the films of Micheal Bay are good?

Two days ago...

...we had no-kidding, old-fashioned fog in Frisco for the first time in ages.

It was so nifty seeing the buildings on Market Street half-enshrouded again, and the cloud moving real fast above my head seeming close enough to touch it and eat it like cotton candy.

Gone now...it was there for just one day.  It seemed to try to be there yesterday but failed.

And did you take pictures?

Reached into my purse.  Realized I'd left slab at home.  Went home.  Found slab.  Noted it had no power.  Charged slab.  Went outside.

But by then, sadly, it was too late.

Moral of story: Always leave home with a charged slab if you have one in the first place, or what's the point of having one in the first place?

Does 'slab' indicate camera?

Slab = smartphone, iPad, tricked-out cellphone or any other handheld digital device capable of more than one purpose.

Came up with this term when "smartphone" started grating on me for...well, being stupid.

These items spread a wide spectrum of cost and functionality but one thing they all have in common is shape: they're all slablike.

And now there may be a 2nd tropical system trying to form off the coast again?! :o

If it forms, it will be the 3rd time in recorded history (1887 and 1908) that 2 named storms formed before the official June 1 start of hurricane season!

... And the thought of 2005 hurricane season came to mind but instead of the gulf coast getting bombarded, could it be the east coasts turn?? :scared:
And there it is.. :o

Tropical storm warnings for Southeast coast

Published May 26, 2012

MIAMI –  Forecasters say a cluster of storms gaining strength near the Southeast coast is moving west named Tropical Storm Beryl over Memorial Day weekend.

The National Weather Service said that as of 2 a.m. Saturday the system was about 285 miles from Charleston, S.C. The storm's winds were at 45 mph, but they were expected to increase as the storm slows down in the Atlantic.

Tropical storm warnings are out for the Volusia/Brevard County line in Florida to Edisto Beach, S.C. The storm is expected to eventually move southwest and the Georgia coast could see heavy rains.

Higher than normal tides will be crashing against the Southeastern coast and may cause flooding. Heavy rain is forecast.

Aww I was rather liking the Flintstonesesque charm of the beef and soldering iron idea. ;)
