Finally got rain today and got a lot of it. Got soaked running the 10 yards to my car after work. 91% humidity now. Sucks as 62 should feel nice and instead it's warm (not really hot) but uncomfortably sticky.

Broke down and turned on the AC 2 nights ago. Was 80 and humid inside at 10 PM and I needed it to cool down to sleep. AC still on- high 80s w/ high humidity all weekend. Weird thunderstorm blew through yesterday afternoon. Heavy rains in surrounded area, but just high winds and light rain in my neighborhood. Winds knocked out the power for about 4 hours though.

i'm lucky that the heat wave hasn't hit poland. there've been a few hot days, but nothing sustained. home AC doesn't seem to exist here, and i'm slightly worried if the heat does come to stay.

Radar is showing a strong line of storms about half an hour away, looks like I got done with mowing the lawn just in time.

Warm/hot humid weather has the mosquitoes/flies/gnats and other bugs out in swarms. Had to do my yardwork in short shifts today- needed frequent breaks away from the insects. Gonna have to spray poison next weekend.

Just had a storm come through, in 15 minutes the temperature dropped 20 degrees and half and inch of rain fell, some pretty strong winds as well.

This is exactly why Summer is my least favorite season. It's nothing but heat, humidity, bugs and bad movies. Plus I'm hot natured. I like the cold and despise the heat.

While looking through the weekly time-lapse movies from the weather cam at work I noticed a rainbow, so grabbed those few frames and made this gif:

We have a Meade 16" LX200, riding on that is a Televue 102 for wide field views.

Web page for the observatory here:

All afternoon it's been alternating bright sun and heavy downpours, and one very loud thunderstorm.
Radar looks like 2 more lines coming in over the next few hours.
