Saw a meme recently that summed it up perfectly:

Spring is the season where you always pick the wrong jacket.

A tornado has been spotted within the Portsmouth city limits. While tornadoes aren't unheard of around here, they're extremely rare. The klaxons at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (which is in Portsmouth, VA) have been going off for the last half hour.

Wow, it was actually a lot closer than I realized. Only a few blocks away. Fortunately it's moving away, but I can already hear fire engine sirens in the distance.

Heat wave is upon us in the south east.. :scared:
Tied a record of 95 set back in 1953, forecast for Memorial Day will be in the upper 90s and we'll remain in the low to mid 90s the last week of May

And then the rains came.. After 21 days of nothing :o
There's been some isolated flash flooding around the area from downpours but it's a needed relief from the heat.

Cold dreary rainy day and today's high only reached 63 degrees..
For June temperatures like this are unheard of here :speechless:

Got down to 49 here last night :speechless: Not a record breaker but man did it feel nice!
The 49° low this morning was just the 11th time we have seen a sub 50° low in the month of June. This ties for the 10th coolest low in June on record (1903) :o
Low tonight will be in the lower 50s

Been getting frequent bands of Thunderstorms coming over the Appalachian mountains and through my area the last couple of days.
They are actually surviving crossing over them without getting shredded apart and bringing down burst winds and torrential downpours :o
Looks like the same forecast for Sunday as well. .

We're had way over normal amounts of rain which is really hurting the Wisconsin farmers. Expect that coupled with tarrifs will make the cost of groceries continue to rise for most of the year. Rain in the forecast for today never came and my yard is surpising dry for the amount of rain we've gotten over the last couple of months (first time doing yardwork this year when I didn't end up with muddy shoes). 70% chance of rain tomorrow.

Didn't get the rain that was in the forecast again today. Got about 15 minutes of a very very light rain. Just enough to raise the humidity to about 80%. Would be a very comfortable 75 right now without the humidity, but this humidity just sucks.
