My Crazy-Ass Local Weather

Got a lot of unforecast but needed rain Thursday night and forecast for the next week changed to closer to normal highs of around 80 to 85.

Didn't realize that when the storm knocked out my power, the big stand up freezer's door was slightly opened enough to raise the internal temperature to around 50 degrees which caused most everything to thaw out overnight.. The fan normally creates a suction to keep the door closed but I didn't catch it until I was about to leave for work before 6am.
Luckily it's mostly breads in there and any meats that were in there were already transferred to the new fridge I bought over the July 4th weekend.

The last few nights there have been pop-up thunderstorms that come very close to my locale but never drop any rain, just produce a lot of thunder and lightning..
It's pretty annoying because 1) we never get any rains from them, and 2) they keep me from going to sleep when I really need to before I go into work the next morning

Got weather alerts and a lot of thunder but again no rain fell
With temperatures reaching the mid-90s the last few days, it sure would be nice to get some rains from these storms

FINALLY!! We get a thunderstorm that rained on us but it came at a cost..
A nearby lightning strike blew out the HDMI port on my Vizio 22" HDTV that I'm using as a security camera monitor on my desk! 
Luckily I had another Vizio 22" that I just swapped in it's place but despite it being on a surge protector, it was still enough to damage the port

Last night there was quite a light show, not much rain or wind but constant lighting, and it seemed much brighter than usual for some reason.

Last night there was quite a light show, not much rain or wind but constant lighting, and it seemed much brighter than usual for some reason.

The storms have wound down for the evening but that was an impressive hour
Only report of damage I've heard about was an awning at a gas station getting blown over narrowly missing a sheriff cruiser.

Future TS Isaias looks to be heading towards the U.S and could impact the south east by the weekend if the track and potential strengthening holds to forecast

Latest update on TS Isaias looks to show it coming ashore early Tuesday morning around Myrtle Beach as it moves NNE.
Local effects in my area range from .5"-1.5" inches of rain and 10-15mph winds with gusts up to 30mph possible Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Nothing more than a passing rain shower.

The outer fringes of Isaias have moved into my locale..

Pretty sure this broke our almost 3 week run of 90+ temperatures

Another band getting ready to move in from the south east, then a front from the west will move through over night..
Looks like we could get more than 1.5 inches of rain from this weather event when it's all said and done

Didn't get to enjoy it until after work, but after about 45 days of hotter than usual temps (a few normal highs in July, but still hot) we had a lower than usual high of 64 today. Feels awesome out. Now 4 days of mid to high 70s , then back to normal for August mid to high 80s. Some rain yesterday finally, but not enough. Haven't mowed in 2 weeks and still don't  need to.
