Like how Joss just posted a few messages back (Who is that anyway? TeamRAD?)

It's TeamRAD.  Be not afraid.   ;)

Ok, not enough good metal in this thread...can't have the fella' choking on too much Alt/Indie Rock, can we? :P

1) Iron Maiden (First 7 albums, and the last 3 to be specific and to save time)
2) Moonsorrow - Suden Uni
3) Judas Priest - Victim of Changes

Yeah, so two of them are classic bands, but odds are if you were grown up on classic rock the late 70's/early 80's metal scenes were ignored or, worse, overlooked.

Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

1) Yes (70's version prefereably)
2) selling england by the pound, Genesis
3) funny ways (live), gentle giant (off the album playing the fool, also easy to find on youtube)

you cant go wrong if you stick to those three bands at their prime, although they made bids ate being "popular" in their later days that werent much to speak of.

Dread Zeppelin - Un-Led-Ed
"Fantasy" - Aldo Nova

...

Yeah, i withdrew my suggestion until i see what the hell is actually going to happen here. Originally i thought we were supposed to narrow each suggestion down. Starting with a band, then one of their albums, and finally a specific song from that album. Like how Joss just posted a few messages back (Who is that anyway? TeamRAD?)

But everyone else went off in another direction, and i haven't seen Greg show up to straighten anything out. But i'm still curious to see how the next episode of Astro Boy, the next Oscar nominated film, the next List Of Crap, the first music suggestion turns out.

-Rude

I'm not even sure that doing it that way is all that helpful to a person wanting to experience new music. Narrowing it down to the album sure but albums aren't always monolithic.

I can do this I suppose

Band: The Bonzo Dog (Doodah) Band
Album: The Doughnut in Granny's Greenhouse
Song: All of them

But like you say, I'm not sure where this will go, if anywhere.

I'll join in:

1) Band/Artist: Nik Kershaw
2) Album: "Falling In Between" - Toto
3) Song: "Nobody's Perfect" - Mike + The Mechanics
Featuring the taxpayer-funded efforts of Blue Raja, Hellcat, and Skyroniter!

Band: The Kinks
Album: Everybody's In Showbiz
Song: Sitting In My Hotel

This is not actually anywhere close to the Kinks' best album.  Plenty of the songs on the "studio" portion of it barely qualify as filler, although it does contain some decent tracks ("Hot Potatoes" and "Supersonic Rocketship") and two outright classics in "Celluloid Heroes" and "Sitting In My Hotel," which might be the best Kinks song that nobody's heard of (unless they're already a Kinks fan).  The "live" portion of the album is entertaining enough, but by no means essential.

Also, a good starting point for the Kinks would be The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society from 1968, combined with the 2-disc Ultimate Collection compilation (I believe that's what it's called).  That collection covers most of their singles from 64-72 and 78-84.

New horizons in sound now as Roger plays a solo on the electric shirt collar.
