I haven't seen Brazil in a while (have it on DVD). But I didn't realize it takes place around Christmas?? I'll have to watch it again.

I watch Nightmare Before Christmas in early November. Its one of those movies that can be watched at Halloween or Christmas or both.

Olive, the Other Reindeer (I had it on tape--I need to get this one on DVD!)

Is it currently released on DVD? If not, then why dont you convert it to DVD yourself?
I can offer my conversion services if you need it converted really bad.
I captured all my MST eps myself:

Please.  When it comes to holiday specials, I am like the Highlander - there can be only ONE!!!  And that ONE is the Star Wars Holiday Special.  End of debate.  Nothing says "Happy Life Day" like sitting down with a glass of milk, a plate of warm Christmas cWookies, and popping my trusty bootlegged copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special into my otherwise unused VHS.

(I still plan on having a Patrick Swayze Christmas this year, though!  Ah, yes!  A Patrick Swayze Christmas to all, and may all your days be shirtless!)
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

I like to watch Muppets' Christmas Carol every Christmas.  I also have It's a Wonderful Life on DVD, so that might get glanced at.   I only saw Chuck Jones' version of The Grinch a few days ago - I thought it was great fun (and I was surprised at how faithful Ron Howard's version was).

A simple answer from me -none,tv is bad enough as it it is already.I only really watch Paramount comedy,Discovery,Sci fi & Horror channels anyway.Plus I am an atheist.Although I might give the Hogfather a watch if I'm in,I expect it won't be anywhere near as good as the book though. Not going to watch Nestor either but hopefully my copy of Dr. Moreau will be here before then so I have something decent to watch.Sorry for being so negative but Christmas always makes me depressed as the S.A.D. kicks in.

I've made it a goal this year to capture (convert to DVD) all the Rankin/Bass specials off the satellite. Some I've seen and some I haven't. I'm disappointed that they don't air certain ones any more. For example: T'was the Night Before Christmas - The one with the mouse and the clock maker. I have it somewhere on VHS that I taped when I was younger. Also there are allot I haven't seen before. Like the Little Drummer boy and Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July.

I want to preserve these in a digital format for my son to watch when he's a bit older...and I want to watch them too  ::)

I should mention that I'm incredibly psyched to see the Hogfather adaptation that Sky One is doing next week. The little clips of it I've seen on youtube look marvelous.

I just hope it gets up on bittorrent sites quickly :)

OK. That is awesome. Does this "Sky One" network happen to broadcast live on the web? Or are we American Pratchett fans gonna have to result to less scrupulous methods?

Do you get ABC Family on your satellite system?  They've been running Christmas specials for the whole month of December, including "'Twas the Night Before Christmas".  It's due to air again on Christmas Eve.

The schedule can be found here.

Thanks Steve-O, I'll check and see if we get that channel on our Canadian dish (Bell). Doesn't sound familiar, but you never know??

You can also find huge torrent packs of these at myspleen.net.  I converted a bunch to DVD this season, but I didn't bother with that one (it never had any special place for me).

I've never been a big fan of torrents. I prefer to make my own DVD's. Just for the simple fact that *most* people don't know what they're doing when it comes to capturing and encoding. Also, most torrents are highly compressed avi's (divx or xvids). The end product of those avi's are for computer viewing, not TV viewing (they've been deinterlaced and what not). They're not ideal sources for making good quality DVD's. Perfect for sharing on the net though...

And the adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather  ;D
