Coldplay are probably a shoo-in though.

And Keane are much more likely to eventually make the cut than Doves or Elbow are. Which kind of proves my point above.

It'll be about 20 years before Coldplay, Death Cab, or Keane would be elligible. Coldplay are probably a shoo-in though.

true, i just would like to eventually see them in there. but whatever happens ill still like em.

I dunno what their status is in Europe, but why should Doves ever make the hall of fame? Don't get me wrong, though - I like them a lot. (I assume you've heard their sweet cover of Zevon's Werewolves Of London, titled Hit The Ground Running?) I've heard of Elbow, but haven't really heard Elbow.

Well, since they do what Coldplay and Keane do, except with more versatility, skill and depth.

(I assume you've heard their sweet cover of Zevon's Werewolves Of London, titled Hit The Ground Running?)

No, but then again, my interest in Zevon is virtually zero. I respect the man, but his songs just drone on going nowhere.

I've heard of Elbow, but haven't really heard Elbow.

Their third album Leaders of the Free World was one of the best albums of 2005, and the title track one of the best singles of that year. Absolutely stunning in every aspect you care to name.

I'd have to see a list before I started complaining about who should be in the HOF.  Though the following should be in there already:

Black Sabbath
Metallica
The Sex Pistols
Deep Purple
Little Richard
Led Zeppelin
Queen
The Beatles
The Who

I dont know what all y'all think but i say they put Wierd Al Yankovic in there.  His music has made me who i am today  ;D

Anyway for my list id have to put:

U2
Led Zepplin
John Denver
Billy Joel
Journey
The Eagles
Boston
Kansas
Coldplay
Death Cab for Cutie
Keane
Electric Light Orchestra

you mean all of the above aren't in the hall of fame?? that has to be wrong...what kind of a music hall of fame doesn't have the beatles in it??

I have no idea.  I was just spitting out names of bands that should be in the HOF if they aren't already.  I agree about The Beatles, though.  :)

It's a long list. Check out their site sometime. The Beatles are in as a group and as individuals.
Miles Davis is in the Hall, but it does leave me to wonder if there is a jazz hall o fame.

VH1 recently ran a program of the latest inductions to the UK Music Hall of Fame which I pulled out the tape today to watch James Brown's segment.  Seems like they have the same criteria of at least 25 years of longevity although I find it hard to believe BonJovi has been around that long.  It isn't a matter of putting in these "15 minutes of fame" acts that have been mentioned.

They should think about knocking Grandmaster Flash(??? ??????) off and putting the Foo Fighters in. They deserve it.

And all the Classic Rockers that I love of course are probably in already: Zeppelin, the Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Stones, Skynyrd, Guess Who, Bob Dylan..... and the list goes on.

As I recall Weird Al has only just become eligble.  But unfotunately I doubt he will get in.

I like the Foo Fighters, but it's too early to tell how influential they are. Anyway, they won't be eligible until 2020, although Dave Grohl himself would technically be eligible in 2013 or so.

There's no way FF have been around long enough. And say what you will about Grandmaster Flash, but there's someone who was an integral part in changing the face of popular music. The Foo Fighters - much as I like a lot of their stuff, have really not had that much of an impact.

Grohl's more famous earlier band Nirvana aren't even eligible yet, are they? They should be a shoo-in.

Yeah, Grandmaster Flash was hugely influential. For better or worse is a matter of opinion.

Nir-what? Is that a Ben & Jerry's flavor?  ;)

In 6 or 7 years Nirvana will be in the Hall of Fame with the likes of Chuck Berry and the Beatles.  Man oh man, will that make me feel old. I remember kids crying at school the day Kurt died.

its weird to think that so many people listened to nirvana and so few ever "got" them.  it seemed to be an integral part of many of their lyrics.

i always secretly wonder if his suicide wasnt caused by the fact he had fame and money and sex and all of everything he ever wanted but was understood by none of his fans.
