Meh. Popular isn't the same as good. Harmonix will probably win something they desperately don't deserve, for example.

Yeah, I agree with that, too. Rockstar gets a lot of leeway because they're, well, ROCKSTAR. But GTA4 wasn't nearly as good of a game as San Andreas, and the overall story was actually shorter. Updated graphics and an (admittedly) improved combat system don't make up for the rest of it.

I don't really understand the "Big Name" categories.  They get awards for just showing up? It's not even a "best of" category!

Those categories baffle me.  It must be so that at least a few celebrities show up to the ceremony, and that way they have at least a couple celebrities on stage accepting awards.  Like, "hey look! Keifer Sutherland is accepting an award from us!  We're a big deal!"

They'd be better off not trivializing the whole thing by having those lame categories.

And does anyone think it's ironic that the "Best Independent Game" is sponsored by Mountain Dew?  (That being said, I'm really pleased to see PixelJunk Eden in there.)

There's a Best Performance By a Human Male category, but no Best Performance By an Anthropomorphic Dining Room Set? Bullshit! Shenanigans!

So GLADOS is out of the running too, then. What a gyp!
