Riff a song: Everlong
« on: December 10, 2006, 12:39:15 PM »
Hey,

I'm doing a version of "Everlong" as "Overlong". and I thought I would post what I've got so far and ask for contributions. I'll record it and put it up somewhere, oh, how about by next Friday (Dec. 15th).

Thanks for the help!

Everlong, by Foo Fighters

hello
I've waited here for you
everlong
tonight I throw myself into
and out of the red
out of her head she sang

come down
and waste away with me
down with me
slow how
you wanted it to be
I'm over my head
out of her head she sang

and I wonder
when I sing along with you
if everything could ever feel this real forever
if anything could ever be this good again
the only thing I'll ever ask of you
you've got to promise not to stop whn I say when

breathe out so I can breathe you in
hold you in
and now I know you've always been
out of your head
out of my head I sang

Overlong, Riffed

hallo-ween
A film without a clue
overlong
tonight, I've lost an hour or two
Back from the dead its
worse than film credits

At least Road House
was shorter than
King Kong
Point Break
should have been an hour long
Reeves and Swayze
make me crazy

and I shudder
What next will Lucas do?

if every movie could go on forever
to bring the apocalypse again
the only thing I'll ever ask of you
you gotta promise to STOP when I say END!!!!!!!!!

and Speilberg says...

Top Gun
triple X and crossroads too
overlong
The Gudge, LOTR, and the Matrix,
out of my head
Night of the Living Dead

if every movie could go on forever
to bring the apocalypse again
the only thing I'll ever ask of you
you gotta promise to STOP when I say END!!!!!!!!!

and Speilberg says...

I thought I would do a quick version of what I've got so far:

2.6 Meg and I added some reverb.

I'm still open to suggestions! A lot of what I got is just thrown together and kind of clunky. I'm sure better lines can be added.

Hey Tor -- maybe you should have this moved to the Games forum. It would probably get more attention there. (It's late and I'm about to drop so I can't listen to it right now! Sorry.)

TOR I love the song man, great job your too modest when ya call it clunky  8) Look forward to a more finished one (this version was very cool though)

Before this thread falls off the page, I wanted to give one last push for contributions.

It's easy: just get a bunch of movie titles, actors or film references, throw in elements of physical and/or psychological pain and torture, and BOOM, you have lyrics. References to RiffTrax, Mike and the gang also work. Come on... drink a beer, do a shot, sail a spliff, or whatever it takes to get you into a creative mood and become the song writer you've always wanted to become. I'll do the song again with added lyrics and it'll be fun.

I suppose it could be any song, I just can't make any guarantees about being able to play it. "Overlong" was an easy one.
