Just saw them here at the House of Blues a couple weeks ago. Awesome, Awesome show. Surprisingly played a LOT of older stuff even though the new album came out recently, so we were pleasantly surprised.

I personally think that Maiden's new stuff is good, but you have to admit to yourself that they're never going to put out another 'Killers' or 'Number of The Beast.'

Their new stuff is slower, and more progressive. But if you can listen to it for what it is and not just compare it to their old stuff, I think they are still putting out good albums. And Bruce Dickenson's voice is as strong as ever on their new album 'A Matter of Life and Death.'

The Iron Maiden Somewhere Back In Time Tour is coming to town!! They are basically using the set from Powerslave and they are only playing the old stuff!! I can't wait. They are also flying their own jet to each of the stops that carries the entire crew and gear with Bruce Dickinson as the pilot! I think I am going to stake out the Phoenix Airport to see if I can catch it landing.

Yeah the 90's was the Blaze Bailey years and since no one wanted to see them without Bruce Dickinson they were relegated to playing in clubs and small theaters with stages so small they couldn't have Eddie come out at all. I saw them last when Bruce came back for Brave New World and live he was amazing. The first track on the album is "The Wickerman" and they had a huge Wickerman set that had to be at least 3 stories high. When they performed the song he climbed up to the top of it and then when it was over he zip-lined back to the stage. That was a great show.

  Iron Maiden never sucked, IMO. Yeah, there was that whole period of time without the divinity of Dickenson to grace them where they fell from "Most Bad Ass Band Ever" to "Better Than 90% Of The Other Bands Out There", but they still rocked hard.

  Sorry, I'm probably biased. I'm one of those people that wants to carve Eddie's visage into my arm with a knife. Pak won't let me.

As far as actual studio albums are concerned there were two with Bayley singing X Factor and Virtual XI. Not very good material. Brave New World with Bruce back is good. Dance of Death has maybe one or two ok tracks but I really like the latest album A Matter of Life and Death.
