As far as I know, the file is MPEG4, but has been renamed as AVI. You can try just changing the extention to MP4 and see what that does. Though you'd still need to convert to MPEG2 for DVD.

I know, that's exactly what I am trying to do - convert to a MPEG2.
FINE

I watched Emergency Riffcast System's Super Mario Bros riff last night.  It was missing a LOT of material.  Going back and looking at the file later I realized a lot of the movie they averaged one joke for every 45 seconds to a minute, and in a couple places near the end there were nearly two minutes of silence.  Watching like that you almost forget you're watching a riff and the movie takes over.

It kind of reminded me of going back and watching my first fan riff, so I can't be too harsh, I just think it was a mistake to charge for it right away.  They might get better on their next attempt, some of the jokes did get a laugh from me, but hopefully next time they can focus on filling time without sacrificing cleverness and funny.

CartoonChaos' riff on Grampy in Be Human had some stuff that had me laughing out loud, but there were bits where he actually could have eased up on the riffing for a few seconds instead of going nonstop, and there were some parts where he screamed too loud.  Overall, a good first effort and worth a buck.

iJust watched a couple of the iRiffs that have been out for a while.

The PS productions of Star Trek II is very entertaining and the Speed Riff Raff release was awesome at their live show.  I think my biggest problem with a lot of these is gonna be me actually owning the movie.  I think I'll have to pay more attention to the discount bin at the ol' Wal-Mart.  Hopefully I'll have a Tron review up soon as well.

Just watched "Fire! Patty learns what to do"

Think Scottz needs to edit the title? It reads "FIREI Patty learns what to do"

The best voice acting I've heard yet. Really funny stuff. Looking forward to more Turkey shoot action.   ;D

iWatched the following:

Star Trek 4 A New Hope Several times already.. Really GR8 Stuff

Star Trek Voyager 'Care Taker'.. Again, GR8 Riff

TRON.. Got an early showing of this, and yet again; Great Riff

Star Trek 1: The Motion Picture.. GR8 Job Ronin!!

And Destroy All Planets.. It was ok, but seemed to 'bland' of a riff to me :-\

Other previous purchases before iRiffs include: Speed, Star Trek 2, Jurassic Park 2, and several of Josh Way's DVD's.. All Good Works as well

I will be watching Insert Coins 'Gamera' once the movie arrives from Netflix 8)

1 Exception: I won't be buying Some Guy Riffs version of DUNE - not right now; not until our scripts (by BTA, Raven, & myself) get merged together and recorded for a track to be released sometime in 2009 for the 25th Anniversary of it's release, and to keep from any accidental conflict of script material er anything like that :-\

Oh, I just assumed that was you, RVR. I didn't realize you weren't finished yet. So I'm gonna have to watch that twice?

Wouldn't watching it be the only way TO prevent a conflict? As long as your script is done, you should listen to the other riff to make sure none of the lines are the same.

I think the point is that if he hasn't SEEN the other group's material, his own riffing won't be potentially compromised or influenced by knowledge of the other group's material. Nobody can claim theft of concept or joke if he hasn't been exposed to any of it (well, they can claim it, but they wouldn't be able to prove it).
