Well, I do, but then, I've also been known to discuss Emil Sitka, William Bendix, and Bea Benederet, so I might not be the best judge of who is currently in the public eye. :P

I will admit  that The Dumb and Dumber guys make good movies because of the reviews when you adimt that Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies were well made because of all their reviews and AWARDS!

Sorry the Dumb and Dumber guys are some of the least funny people on the planet.

They have a comedy on the top 100 comedies according to AFI. If that's what you get for being the least funny, I need to write a comedy script pronto.

Look all I did was pick two people who i wouldn't like to see remake The Marx Brothers.

I didn't know that is was forum rules that i have to think the Dumb and Dumber guys are good filmmakers.

IMO none of their movie are good so I think this is going to turn out bad.

Sorry but I didn't like their movies.

I don't like Some like it Hot either so I don't put much faith in AFI's lists.

How many of their movies did you see before deciding you didn't like them?

Don't forget that TV biopic with Michael Chiklis

This was very good, by the way.  Very touching.

And speaking of the Farrelly Brothers, any of you fans watch "Unhitched" on Fox before it was dropped?

That is not what I said at all. What I said was that the Farrelly brothers are not on the same level as the Epic Movie idiots because they have a basic idea of what does and doesn't work in comedy.

Comedy is very subjective. Basic filmmaking is not.

Look I'm sorry I didn't like them.

And what I'm trying to say is that just because you dislike the Farrelly brothers doesn't mean that they're bad at comedy.

To be fair, the Farrelly Brothers' movies are at least competently filmed, lighted, art directed, etc.  I'll give them that.

I've seen:  There's Something about Mary, Kingpin, and Dumb and Dumber.

Beneath all the crudity, Mary was actually a good story, and it had some promising ideas.  I just don't like crude humor.  Of course, Some Like it Hot was pretty crude for its day.
