Is Nestor the Christmas Donkey out of the running yet?

I'd suggest Apocalypto.  It's one of the best movies I've seen all year.  It is just brilliant.  If you group includes minors, people with tender tummies or people who want to jump on the bandwagon to boycott Mel Gibson.....see Casino Royale.  It's the best Bond since Goldeneye.

I've actually just seen Grounded, aka Unaccompanied Minors.  It's not a terrible film (I spent most of the time spotting American TV alumni - "Hey! There's Rob Corddry!") and has some funny moments, but it's certainly not a bunch of guys semi-loaded with Christmas cheer want to watch.

well, if it's a christmas party, it's only fitting that you see a christmas film: Deck the Halls

Either that, or find an independant theatre that's showing Troll 2.  ;D

It's too bad Black Christmas won't be out in time. I can thing of no better way to honor the holidays than by hacking up college girls.

I saw Blood Diamond and it was actually a really good movie. Had a good message to it.
But you guys probably don't wanna see an action movie, so I would suggest either The Prestige if there's a theater still showing it (They've been showing The Departed at a theater near my house for 11 weeks straight) or The Last King of Scotland.

I think we've mentioned this already... a few times... but we've already seen the movie!  A few of you suggested Apocalypto and that's what the four of us (Mike, JP, Conor and I) wanted to see anyways, so we broke from the rest of the Legend Films crew and saw that by ourselves. Of course Mike bought us all beer and we hung out and ate nachos afterward, so it was a fun time.

Apocalypto was good but claims of it being "gory" are HIGHLY exaggerated.

It's not the goriest thing ever, but when I saw it in theaters, there was a little child some where in the theater that would cry every now and then.  And I thought to myself "Ok, well the child is obviously not old enough to read, so why did you take him to this movie?  Did you just want him to see some good, healthy dismemberment and slaughter?"  I guess I missed that part in those 'how to raise your child videos'.  "Take your kid to see a graphic depiction of human sacrifice.  It will help him appreciate that his head is still attached, and as a result, builds character."

I cannot understand people like that.  ::) I'd love to be there later when they're trying to figure out why Junior keeps having nightmares.

So torgosPizza, what did the rest of the Legend Films crew see?
