What would "Ultimate MST3K DVD" have on it?
« on: December 08, 2006, 07:13:00 AM »
I was trying to think of what would be on the "Ultimate" MST3K DVD. This is what I came up with:

MST3K Episode (obviously)
Scenes cut from original movie
original movie trailer
episode guide
annotated reference guide (possibly as subtitles?)
bloopers
promos for episode
MST3K Hour segments

Can anyone think of something else that should on there?

A Rifftrax of Mike ripping universal a new one for borking the series only theatrical outing. :)

Actually, I think I'd mostly be interested in the cut scenes...  I've seen them before, but not in any sort of high quality form.

Um...about 15 other DVD's stacked on top of it, containing every single episode of MST3K.  Does that count as being "on" the DVD? ;D
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

I'd like to see an introduction for the episode by one of the cast members.  Possibly a proper "making-of" documentary too.

They had some intros on Volume 5 I think. Then it seems Rhino got cheap and didn't want to pay for any more of them. As far as the making of is concerned the Scrapbook tape is pretty cool as well as The Last Dance:Raw. Far from being a proper documentary but the best thing out there.

A "lost episode" that has never been aired or seen before.
Doesn't have to be one of the missing KTMA's.

Wouldn't it be cool to find out there was an ep from one of the other seasons that was completed but never used or lost for some reason. And now its been found and will be released direct to DVD.

A "director's cut" version with the unused scenes inserted into the movie. "You will believe a robot can fly!!"   An "enhanced effects" version of the original film where the mutant moves faster than a snail?

How about an interview or commentary with some of the cast or filmmakers of the film being riffed in the particular episode?

A hair from each of the cast members so I can invent a clony machine and make my own.

Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Man, pop-up reference annotations. That would be awesome, but imagine being the guy to compile them?

They were kinda lame, but anyway there were two intros on volume 9 on the movies 'Women of the Prehistoric Planet' and 'The Sinister Urge'. Yeesh. It makes me wonder how many of you people actually buy the collections that are put out and how many actually watch the damn things.
my entry made my girlfriend laugh a few times, the best I can hope for really.

I'd say Whalberg definately qualifies as really good.

I would love to see Rhino include a short 5-10 minute roundtable intro to the movies where they could talk about the film in general, the process they went through, their thoughts of the film, etc.

A commentary track might be kind of hard to pull off as their riffing is basically the commentary track.
